Wilbraham makes sense. We've got a pretty young and inexperienced squad, he's apparently a good bloke to have around - a wily old pro, who has experience of dog fights and would presumably, by the sounds of it, be absolutely delighted to be here and take it very seriously. Wouldn't expect to see him feature in the starting XI, but a good one to have around when chips are down - And they will be down. Often.
Do we? I think we're packed full of experience. Even the premier league young lads we've signed have all played more than 50 games of proper football. Some at championship level even.

Then the rest of our squad is full of experience.

Blake was a mascot - Wilbraham by all accounts will put the graft in and lead by example
I have no doubt he will. Likesay, we can't afford passengers.

It's possible that, as well as moving to be nearer his family, Wilbraham wished to avoid mascot status at BCFC. It's certainly an interesting decision for a 37-year-old to give up a coaching post; they don't come along very regularly.

Shades of Robbie Blake... shades of Stephen Dobbie. Or was it Scott...?

I think experience at this level will be very important. I've been looking at the other promoted clubs' transfers and Millwall seem to have gone a similar route in blending a few of the best from League One with a few signings for Championship teams.

Sheff Utd however seem to have signed exclusively from League One (with the exception of Stearman) from Wolves.

Most people predicting the league don't agree with this view however, they have us and Millwall succumbing to relegation with Sheff U top half or even pushing for the playoffs!! I can't help but think they've been massively overrated from them pissing the league last year.

It's not something we're desperate for: it's clichéd to say "really close bunch of lads in that dressing room" but a LOT of our players have banged on about it. It seems PP knows the value of the off-field benefits.
Guy I know through 5aside is a family friend of the Karacans. Says Jem absolutely loves it here, the dressing room is tight af and that Karacan had better offers in the summer but really loves playing for Parky.

Re: Wilbraham. He's a Manc isn't he? No doubt moving nearer home was a big factor.

Players love Parky and his staff. It is very similar to early days of Big Sam. Spirit and organisation will be our characteristics. Won't outplay many, if any, sides, but we might outscrap a few.

That's the one. Went to school there with my ex. Supposedly an all round good guy.
She broke my heart though, and his signing has reopened all the old wounds... :(

Official site: we've loaned a 19yo Everton player until January (obvz). Antonee Robinson, "predominantly" a left-back. Born in Milton Keynes but a former US youth international. Played at the Macbok in the Checkatrade last year, but hasn't hit the senior squad yet.

Robinson said: “As soon as I heard about the opportunity to come to Bolton Wanderers I was buzzing. The chance to pay at such a high profile club is one that I’m relishing. It’s my first loan move so it will be a big step up but it’s a challenge I am ready for.”

Parkinson: “We have been looking for a left back for a while. We like the look of Antonee, he is a good defender. He has great athleticism, he’s young, hungry and was keen to join us. He is a good addition to the squad.”

This transfer window is shaping up to be the best we've had for a fair few years.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Results are how they should be judged.

Take last year's for example...

Aaron Wilbraham..heard about the fact he was training with us yesterday. Thought we were just doing him a favour...didn't realise we were signing him. Contracted to Bristol though...didn't realise that either...only signed a new deal this summer. 37. Presumably they will release him. Still...wtf???
He is 38 in October. Started 8 games and 23 subs appearances with four goals last season. I know he is well thought of down here, they offered him a coaching role as part of his latest contract.

I think this signing is most definitely cover for Madine, rather than an upgrade on Madine, suggesting Madine is going to be pencilled in pretty much every game. I was hoping we were going to sign the young Arsenal lad on loan we were linked with (Mavididi), at least he is a young guy with top level ability who could develop to be a big improvement on Madine. Unless Madine has improved a lot goals are going to be a struggle I feel...

I don't think that Arsenal lad would get in. Just a feeling that he wouldn't be up to it.

Madine will be ok. He isn't there for goals, that is Le Fondre and Armstrong.

I would prefer a younger option than Wilbrham though.
Just read Mavididi has gone to Preston on loan. Will be interesting to see how he does there...
