Based on LGM's cryptic tweet we're getting a premier league winner!

Well, we might get Burke back yet. This from football.london:
Reece Burke and Josh Cullen are set to play for West Ham in their FA Cup third round replay against Shrewsbury Town [tonight] and a decision over their immediate futures at the club will likely be made after the game.(…)

Burke and Cullen didn't have their six-month loan spells at Bolton Wanderers this season extended as Hammers coach Alan Irvine admitted the club "needed" them back due to a lack of numbers. But, Irvine told football.london that if the club can afford to do so, they wouldn't stand in the players way if they wanted to leave on loan once again and Bolton are at the front of the queue to take the duo back.

Irvine said: "We are really conscious that we wanted them to come back, we needed them to come back because of the situation prior to the first game but we don't want to stop their development either so if we feel they wont get sufficient time for us, and we can afford to do it, because we have senior players that will be involved instead then maybe we will look at that situation.

"Phil Parkinson is well aware and the boys are well aware too that we are not going to keep them here and sit them in the stand. We will see. The two of them have impressed us, they both did well in the last game. They have played at League One and Championship level and we feel that they should be able to play in this game."

Curtis Good? Who Parkinson had on loan at Bradford while in League 2? The man's nepotism knows no bounds!

I know nowt about Curtis Good. Hopefully he lives up to his surname - if he does sign.

However, I strongly suspect its a case of beggars can't be choosers.

Well, he's a dead ringer for Robert Huth, so we'll just pretend it's him

I haven't a clue, Fella, Hence, I'll just wait to see who we bring in rather than clutching at thin air on here.

Reece Burke just scored in extra time for the Hammers so I guess he wont be coming back to Bolton.

I don’t think they judge their centre-backs on goals scored so much as bracelets nicked.

Saw a few critical tweets about his performance. Nerves, perhaps? Thought he looked shaky in the first game v Shrewsbury.

Cullen however, got a ringing endorsement by their fans. They feel he's better than their current midfielders

Burke, quoted in the Evening Standard:
I would like to stay here but for a young player like me it’s all about getting game time and if I’m not going to play regularly then I know Bolton are also still interested in me and maybe it would be better to go back there.

That’s a discussion I need to have with the manager in the next few days. You have to work your way up and being here and sitting on the bench is not ideal. I just want to play football. But you have to be a man, do the cooking, cleaning and all the things you don’t want to do. You have to grow up.

Iles tweet acknowledges Wanderers had a "fleeting" interest in loaning Ched Evans but it "won't be followed up".

He would be in the Madine mould and offer a back-up option. We would be completely knackered if Madine gets injured.

I hope we have a back-up plan.

From the illogical desk, Calcio Mercato reports we're "one step" from signing a 34-year-old Italian goalkeeper from Lazio who's never played outside Italy. Feredeiroc Marchetti Is the name, for the record.

Detestable hate-mongers the Daily Mail claim we're after Derby's Jamie Hanson, who has made one fleeting appearance this season, but he's more likely to go back to Wiggin where he was on loan. He's a defensive midfielder who can also play centre-back or right-back. Iles responded to this by tweeting that we're concentrating on a forward.

If I tweatered, which I don't, I'd respond to that tweat by twatting that I don't believe anybody's fully concentrating on anything to do with recruitment at all. Tick tock, tick tock, January window gone by, oh well... Kind of redefines the January window into something a Roman would understand, Janus (god of two faces).
