Confirmed. Another thanks Ken!
It’s a shame he can’t be convinced to hang on to get us a fee; but if he wants to ruin his career playing pub football - off yer pop. We won’t be getting millions whether he goes now or when the takeover is done, just one of those things. He’s soured his relationship here now though which he may regret when he is sat in the Celtic reserves for the next few years.

No problem at all with the lad. He stuck around to see what would happen post ken and the answer is 'feck all' with the season fast approaching. Why would he or anyone believe next season will be any better? And he's no idea who his manager will be.
He'd be bonkers not to go. Good luck to him.

Yup - gotta take what's in front of you when the opportunity presents itself.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 12:42 pmNo problem at all with the lad. As if to prove the point, it seems Forest have now turfed Martin O'NeillDave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 12:13 pmForest have such a scattergun approach to recruitment, management, etc. It's baffling. I'm reading Jonathan Wilson's book on Clough, Nobody Ever Says Thank You (bit long-winded, needs an editor, but that's Jonawils for you) and you wonder what Peter Taylor would have thought of their approach in recent years, amassing average players. Didn't they have like 50 contracted professionals at one point recently?
For instance, speaking of our old mates left in City Ground cupboards, I wonder if Zach Clough (or his dad) will be on the phone when we finally get a decision on manager. Reminder that he spent last year struggling with injury on loan at Rochdale (having spent the second half of the previous term back at ours). He still has two full seasons left on his Forest contract. He turns 25 in March.
Poor old Sammy, eh?

It pisses me off when this club have nurtured his since a kid and now he wants to jump ship. What an absolute nice person! Admin should stop this to enable a decent fee. It won’t be long till Celtic are flogging him back south for millions and our club once again misses out. Football makes me sick.

It pisses me off when folk criticise other folk for favouring their own best interests.
Once APCM Ltd had put me through seven years of college, I dropped 'em like a brick and f*cked off up the smoke to earn top dollar.

How would you feel if you paid for someone from start to finishing an apprenticeship and went to another company? You’d be cheesed off, I surely would.

I find that a sad position to take.
I can't argue with your assertion. I've been telling folk that for years.

Equally I find your position far more sad - we invest & pay for the lads development and then he wants to bail at the 1st opportunity, and you are ok with it - very strange.Enoch wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:27 pmAthertonian wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:22 pmHow would you feel if you paid for someone from start to finishing an apprenticeship and went to another company? I'm starting to think some people still live at home. The young chap has been with us since he was 8? Sees an opportunity with a much bigger Club than we're likely to be for the foreseeable and takes it... Why the fcuk would he not? If he's playing the 14 day time out, then he hasn't been paid the relatively small amount an academy player is likely to get. The notion that people would do any different just bemuses me.

Seriously ?, so please tell me what's the point of having a youth / academy system, investing in, training & developing these players over 10 years or so - if they can just fcuk off whenever they feel like it.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:56 pmI'm starting to think some people still live at home. Yup. I do some grad development at work. I encourage them to be the best they can be in the market place. If we're shit as a company they will fcuk off.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 8:05 pmSeriously ?, so please tell me what's the point of having a youth / academy system, investing in, training & developing these players over 10 years or so - if they can just fcuk off whenever they feel like it.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:56 pmI'm starting to think some people still live at home. Oh and I look to make them "first team" players early. Not when they're 28. Mind, I'm not limited to only 11 players...
