I come in peace... i.e. a Manchester United fan

Post by Owenzy » Mon Sep 20, 2010 1:49 pm

Hey there. I'm a member on a Manchester United forum called manutdtalk.com and before the game next week, I've been asked to come over and get a view from the Bolton fans on here with regards the following questions. Hope everyone answers truthfully and if one of you guys want to come over to manutdtalk and ask the same type of questions, then there are no probs.
Thanks in advance.

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

3. Who is your one player to watch?

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

5. Which United player do you fear most?

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

7. What will the score be when we meet?

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

Top 4 - considering your underpar midfield, shaky defence and dodgy manager

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

Top ten. Bottom ten.

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Lee - better than that headless chicken shithouse Korean you've got

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Holden - better than anyone in your midfield

5. Which United player do you fear most?

None since Solskjaer. Maybe George Best, cos I'm scared of zombies.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Owen Coyle

7. What will the score be when we meet?

5-0 to us

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

WANKER. Gobshite, deluded, hypocritical. nice person.

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

I don't rate them. Too many southerners, no original songs, and you disobey the law by not sitting down. Wankers.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

None. Wankers.

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

First but you will finish 2nd

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

8th but we will finish 11th

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Lee

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

no one really jumped out as yet.

5. Which United player do you fear most?

Rooney

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Elmander just like last season

7. What will the score be when we meet?

2-2

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

Do you really respect our opinion that much?

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

Better than Arsenal fans

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Rooney. Berbs is too moody, and your midfield is not that impressive or too old.

No, 2nd to Chelsea

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

17th or above, I'd be happy with finishing top 12 (must be shocking for for a glory-hunter reading that!)

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Chung-Yong Lee

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Martin Petrov

5. Which United player do you fear most?

At the moment - Berbatov

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Elmander

7. What will the score be when we meet?

1-2 to the glory-hunters

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

He'd old, and should retire

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

We've had to put up with Arsenal fans recently - you're angels in comparison.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Fletcher - he gets better the more I see of him.
Troll and proud of it.

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

A cup, but not the Premiership. Second to Chelsea again, I'm afraid.

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

A cup, and a mid-table finish (safe by Easter would be lovely)

3. Who is your one player to watch?

I tend to watch 'em all. It's a team game. Chung Yong Lee's a belter, though. As is Stuart Holden

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Potentially Martin Petrov

5. Which United player do you fear most?

It was Ronaldo.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Gary Cahill. England debutante now needs to prove he's worth another cap.

7. What will the score be when we meet?

2-1 Bolton

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

As a manager he's among the best there is and has been. As a Man? Is yours a family forum?

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

I'm surrounded by them. I live in the Home Counties.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Giggs. Even now.

Probably 2nd. Behind Chelski.
2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?
Good season? 12th or above. Happy with anywhere higher than 14th really.

3. Who is your one player to watch?
Holden and Elmander are having decent seasons so far.

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?
Petrov on paper. But who knows, we haven't seen some of them play much (or at all) yet.

5. Which United player do you fear most?
On current form Berbatov

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?
Elmander needs to get 8 plus goals really to silence his critics. Good start.

7. What will the score be when we meet?
I'd like to think we'd give you a decent game. 2-1 to you.

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?
Done a superb job. Was very dislikeable but Wenger has taken over that mantle for me.

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?
Arrogant. Dislike Arsenal, Burnley and Liverpool fans more though.
10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?
Vidic or Scholes.

Owenzy wrote:1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

You're Man United. If you ain't 1st, it ain't a good season. Before the start of the season, I thought Ferguson might have made some necessary changes in order to win the title back (like when you turned to 4-3-3 after Arsenal's Invincibles season). He's not, which is strange for him, and Chelsea look even better than last year. I still think you'll finish second.

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

A good season would be a sensible one. I want 10th/11th/12th. I reckon 13th/14th. As long as we're well clear of any battle by March, I don't give a shiny one.

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Dan Smith. (in-joke). Seriously, Kevin Davies again. Like him or not, he's instrumental in a lot of what we do. And he's had a good, imposing start to the season in different ways - using brains and brawn.

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Weird one, this - Martin Petrov is yet to come good, although it's worth noting he's only played five games for us. The other signings haven't played yet. Stuart Holden feels like a new signing after a lengthy lay-off last year, even if we got him in January.

5. Which United player do you fear most?

Giggs. Scholes. At the moment, Berbatov. At most other times, Rooney. When he's on song, Nani. One of your most under rated players, Fletcher. Basically most of them beyond your back four. You bastards.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Johan Elmander, and he's gone some way to proving it already in my eyes.

7. What will the score be when we meet?

No idea. 46-28. 0-0. Somewhere in between. I don't like predictions.

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

I teach his grandchildren, so I've warmed to him more recently. As a manager, you can't criticise someone who's delivered so much success, regardless of the amount of money spent on it. As a diplomat, he's rubbish.

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

Which supporters? The season ticket holders who can hold a conversation and know their football? The football tourists who know nothing about the club and wear their Glazer Out scarves as they chuck money at the megastore? The smug ones who don't know who Ralph Milne is, yet proclaim to be a massive fan of the club 'cos they see you on telly more? You've got plenty of all of the above. As for liking or disliking, I don't mind the first lot, the rest can rot in hell. The best thing about you lot is that you don't support Arsenal.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Scholes. Even today. Although I'd still like Giggs or Fletcher. Or Rooney. You bastards.

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

1st but i think you will finish 2nd

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

Top ten finish would be excellent and I reckon we will finish 12th

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Lee, tricky and underrated although he does have a tendency to disapear!

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Signing Klasnic up!

5. Which United player do you fear most?

At the moment Berbatov (I happy as hes in my fantasy football team :D)

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Johan Elmander, and so far so good, an improvement so far!

7. What will the score be when we meet?

Bolton 0-2 United, I think we will be unlucky and miss key chances and as we tire the wheels will fall off and you will dominate and finish strong.

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

I prefer him too Arsene Knobhead Wenger! I like him when he clashes with him as hes the only person with enough weight to insult Wenger properly!

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

Too many gloryhunters but much better than the Arsenal fans!

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Difficult one as we could do with a few but I reckon we would have to take Rooney although something in the back of my head days Fletcher would be brilliant for Bolton!

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

They're all good seasons for you, money sees to that like at all the top four. You have a one in three chance of the title because Liverpool are slipping.

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

One answer: A good season would see us 12 or above. It's a possibility.

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Lee, with Petrov yet to show his best.

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Petrov, but we may have a couple to come through who haven't yet played

5. Which United player do you fear most?

We don't fear any. Respect one or two.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Elmander and he's shaping to do it.

7. What will the score be when we meet?

Mystic Meg's your best bet for that

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

As a manager he's proven his point. Never liked his flexible clocks.

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

Worked for years with genuine ones. Can't stand anybody who doesn't come from Manchester (and you have thousands)

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

If I could find the elixar of life and teach him how to tackle, , Paul Scholes

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

1st would be your obvious aim. But I think you'll finish 2nd

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

Top half would be fantastic, anywhere above 18th is adequate. I think we'll finish aroung 12th

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Davo. I think he'll get a lot of joy out of Evans if Ferdinand isn't fit. He's tortured young Jonny a number of times.

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Petrov stands out as the only new player to break into the first team. Blake has looked okay when he's been given a chance. He certainly has form against your lot

5. Which United player do you fear most?

Whoever isn't playing too well or on a goal drought. Rooney hadn't scored for 14 years 2 seasons ago and walked off with the match-ball!! We're nice like that, you see!

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Elmander. Record signigng, but a poor goal return. He's a handy player. He just needs more aggression and to be a little more ruthless around the box

7. What will the score be when we meet?

3-1. We'll give you a game for the most part, but you'll just have that little bit too much for us

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

Unrivalled in this country. He may not be everyones cup of tea, but I certainly prefer him to Wenger, Benitez and Steve 'cliche' Bruce. Tossbag

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

Your away support is second to none, but that's to be expected for a team with your fanbase in one of Britains largest cities. A lot is said for your 'out of town' support. But that's by the by, you only have to put up with them at O.T, I actually live in Salford (Worsley) so all my mates are rags.. For that reason, I can't really 'dislike' you too much!

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Scholes or Giggs. We're missing a proper ball playing central midfielder and they'd be key to Coyles apparent 'style'. Failing that, the Hospice botherer up top aint too shabby!

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

Less than four trophies would obviously be a disaster for you. You'll be second in the League, losing finalists in both cups and out at the quarter finals of the CL. I will shed tears for you.

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

Survival is crucial and always the first aim. It's attainable this season, with hints of a nicer-on-the-eye style as well.

3. Who is your one player to watch?

Lee is due a good game. This would be a nice fixture to have it.

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

We don't know yet - only Petrov has played as Coyle invests 'for the future'.

5. Which United player do you fear most?

Rooney usually has a stormer against us.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Cahill. We know he's good. Can he prove it to Capello?

7. What will the score be when we meet?

You'll probably win, you usually do. Maybe by a panful.

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

As a manager - brilliant. As a human being - he barely makes it into the bottom 10% of the species.

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

I believe the Reykjavik reds are cuddlesome.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

If Ryan Giggs wanted to emulate Youri Djorkaeff and spend a couple of farewell seasons with us no one would be more delighted than me.

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?
Well a good season is clearly a championship winning one, but I think you're going to have a frustrating season finishing a distance second.

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?
I think top half would still represent an achievement, and we can do it if our home form improves

3. Who is your one player to watch?
Chung-Yong Lee has emerged as our best playmaker

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?
I think Petrov is the best free signing of the summer, though he's yet to light the Reebok up

5. Which United player do you fear most?
Paul Scholes. For all the Nani stepovers and Rooney volleys, the simple things that Paul Scholes does so well hurts teams like us all the time.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?
There's a few, but I think Elmander is starting to get a sniff at a shot to prove he can be a Premiership striker

7. What will the score be when we meet?
You'll fecking tonk us 3-0

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?
Hard to be disrespectful to someone of his record

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?
I hate the U-N-I-T-E-D song with a passion, it's an awful, cheesy, gimpy chant.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?
The aforementioned Scholes is exactly the player we're missing - though Fletcher's your most "Bolton" player and is head and shoulders above our midfield. But let's be honest, even John O'Shea would make our starting XI

1. What do you think would be a good season for United? And where do you think we will finish in the league?

Don't care as long as they win nowt. 2nd.

2. What do you think would be a good season for Bolton Wanderers? And where do you think you will finish in the league?

Stay up as usual. Anything better than that is a bonus.

3. Who is your one player to watch?

I think Evra will probably be watching Kevin Davies fairly closely

4. Who is your best signing of the summer?

Ivan Klasnic - if we can ever get him on the pitch

5. Which United player do you fear most?

Nobby Styles. The rest of 'em are pussies by comparison.

6. Which of your players has something to prove this season?

Elmander.

7. What will the score be when we meet?

If Coyle sets out his normal 4-4-2, I could see a good few goals going in the wrong net. 0-4.

8. What do you think of Sir Alex Ferguson as a manager?

I preferred him when there was 52,000 of you singing "Fergie out" and holding banners up saying "Three years of excuses and it's still crap"

9. How do you rate our support ? Do you like/dislike United fans?

Plastic bastards most of the ones you meet in pubs and stuff. I've offered them free tickets before now and they've still been "too busy". Credit to the ones that go. Wouldn't ring 999 for most of them, if they were locked in a burning block of flats.

10. If you could take one of our players for your team, who would it be?

Won't even pick them in my fantasy football team - are you kidding? (Mind you Willie Morgan and Tony Dunne were alright once they saw the light)

Spot on Kebab. I was watching the game on Sunday... The amount of idiots I saw with a Green and Gold scarf draped over their brand new £45 Megastore bought replica shirts, was amazing!

Some of 'em have a sense of humour. My mate just got me a signed photo of Eric Cantona for my birthday.

I'll be putting it up in the kitchen. With SCUM scrawled across it.
