Lee also knocked one off the line in the first half, so any condemnation from anyone is over the top.hisroyalgingerness wrote:Didn't see it.
Would've taken a point.
Bit gutted in the end with said point (it really is the hope that kills you)
Ivan does have a habit with this goal thing
Sounds like Lee needs to learn a lesson from the game
Could be worse. Now let's beat Wolves
We need to be undefeated this month, I'd be happy with that.

Holden was everywhere last night, unlucky not to score. Taylor was immense; what a cross for Klasnic to tap in, so perfect I could have scored it on my crutches. Taylor was unlucky not to score as well, when his header hit the bar. Some 'Alamo' defending at times, when away from home you expect a lot of pressure, but sometimes it would have been nice to see us use the ball better than a hoof into the stand; but then Lee did try it and look what happened. I thought also that not only was it a foul on Lee, but the ball had gone out of play and should have been a throw in. On reflection, considering the chances Everton missed, a point was probably fair, but sadly left with that footie fan's feeling of 'if only'. Then again, 'if only' Megson was still in charge, we'd have been buried 4-0 and be bottom three. I don't want to get carried away here, but I'm begining to get that feeling again I had with BSA in charge, when you hear the result and are shocked that we didn't actualy win. And that's got to be good thing.

I could just see Steinsson getting the same sort of leeway too...bw@bw wrote:PreciselyEast Lower wrote:Lee also knocked one off the line in the first half, so any condemnation from anyone is over the top.hisroyalgingerness wrote:Sounds like Lee needs to learn a lesson from the game
It was a silly mistake that cost us 2 points. The one he knocked off the line was just doing his job - that's why he was put there in the first place.
Condemnation? Not really. I'll still be supporting him and us next game.

It was going wide.. But it was there to be cleared. What would you have said if Steinsson was the one who'd cocked up?East Lower wrote:Lee also knocked one off the line in the first half, so any condemnation from anyone is over the top.hisroyalgingerness wrote:Didn't see it.

I'm with you 100% I understand all the rational "a point at everton is a good point" and "we'd have taken a point before the game" stuff - it's all correct and grown up and rational and sensible...
BUT... we chucked away 2 pts with the last kick of the game - I'm pissed off!
I don't blame anyone in particular - I don't want anyone sacked - I'm fairly positive about the season - BUT - emotionally, I am mighty pissed off - and grumpy to boot.
I may recover if we beat wolves.

And to the original post, Lee does need to learn a lesson from the game. 3 mins into injury time, 1 goal up, PUNT THE FECKER...boltonboris wrote:It was going wide.. But it was there to be cleared. Would have ripped him to bits over it, because I don't like Steinsson. Lee has earned a bit of lenience as far as I'm concerned.boltonboris wrote:It was going wide.. But it was there to be cleared. Good to see objectivity's still alive and well in the ESL...East Lower wrote:Would have ripped him to bits over it, because I don't like Steinsson.
