I wonder what it is about Birmingham. The journalists who comment on them, namely Nursey and Tattum are both well known to go above and beyond the general shit-munching that normal journalists do with their local clubs.

I think I'd trust a transfer story about us in the viz more than one in the BeN... Im pretty certain Iles gets his transfer rumours off Tribal....

Also FWIW, Nixon's not said its not happening, all he's said is the injury makes it less likely... I guess a lot of that depends on the extent of the injury and if Brum are willing to take a hit in price to sell someone with a niggle... given the shite financial state they are in you never know...
The BN are pretty accurate, they get their news pretty direct from the club! Which is why they're slow, cos they only go to print when they are allowed to.

Jimbo just posted Nixon rubbishing that Jerome story in a tweet.

Makes me laugh though, how before everyone rubbished Nixon as being an accurate source. Now he's on twitter they're all running off to ask him questions. "Uncle Alan, Uncle Alan".......

I get pissed off when they refer to themselves as 'Blues'.

It's the same with the mumbling shitgibbons who call Arsenal 'The Arsenal'.

Wankers. It's THE Blues, and ARSENAL.

Do one 8)

Here's one: Owen Coyle rates him, and I tend to believe Owen Coyle knows more about football than anyone on here.

Well here's one from my mate - a lifelong bluenose "He's a proper lazy c*nt". Oh, and that was after I'd asked him for something positive.

See other post where I went into detail as to why I don't think Jerome would be a catastrophic signing as some are making out.

In other news - just read this, to the tune of the Torres song

He grows his hair like Cheryl Cole, Tuncay Tuncay
He'll get the ball and score a goal, Tuncay Tuncay
He came from Wolfsburg on a plane
He'll score against the scum again
TUNCAY SANLI BOLTON'S NUMBER NINE

I lol'd, then I was appalled.

I am of the opinion that the manager goes out and gets the players he wants (can afford) which he thinks can improve the team / squad. OC obviously thinks that either Jerome of Ngog would fit this criteria, I get the feeling that he would prefer Ngog with Jerome the backup if he cannot persuade Liverpool to let Ngog go for what OC considers a fair price.

No one can say Ngog would be a better signing than Jerome of visa versa obviously everybody has their opinion. I wait with interest who OC signs and how we end up playing will depend on these signings. If OC fails it costs him his job so any signing he makes he has carefully considered as we all would if our job was at stake.

Got to say, I'm not sure about either Tuncay or Jerome tbh.

Both are probably more capable than the last season they played in the Prem, but it's whether you get the capable versions or the ones that play like crap.

After expecting great things from Petrov last season, and watching him troll about like disinterested shite for large proportions of the season, I'm more nervous now than I was this time last year.

That said, we can't really head into the season with only those who we currently have on the books, so I guess anything's better than nowt.

In OC we trust, and all that.

Didn't Stoke fans just sing "Na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, Tuncay"?

That'll do, it's simple and it's better than "Tun-cay San-li, Tun-cay San-li".

I can't say I'm overwhelmed with the idea of a Jerome signing but I really haven't seen him enough nor do I know how he would fit into OC's plans.

The idea that he is rubbish because he will not be able to finish crosses from a yet unsigned Turk seems a bit strange to me and assumably is based on less than a handful of viewings in a different team.

If he were to come I would hope we would give him a chance before the "Jerome you're shite" bedsheets are brought out.

I dunno. I'm trying to be positive about Jerome. There's something there, but we need consistency. That said, he might learn a lot about certain aspects from KD, and be a fairly like-for-like replacement/competition. I'd still want another, pacier striker though, whether a loanee or Ngog; like Tombwfc, I'd be disappointed if buying Jerome hampered our ability to buy Ngog but I'm not sure it will.

Wonder what the mooted £6m would be for. Full England cap? Bolton in Europe?

The BN could be wrong (it has been known) and Nixon is only saying the injury isn't helping, but that's only a delay rather than a disaster. Jerome might not be fit enough to take a medical until Monday - the day after his birthday, fact fans – but he's not fit enough to play yet anyway so no harm done. Glad to hear Nixon saying Brum are pushing rather than us, it helps us drive prices down (possibly including Ngog's).

As for SWP, maybe tinted glasses but I do think that wages aside he'd rather play for us than Stoke. Partly geographical (although I'm guessing he lives in Cheshire so he's halfway to Stoke anyway) but he also gets on with Zat Knight and let's face it, we play better football. I see after failing to accommodate Tuncay or Eidur, Stoke have now concentrated on signing a defensive lunk (Upson), a destructive midfielder who can't pass water (Palacios) and a nine-foot forward (Crouch). I know it's the spurned lover's lament but really, if he'd rather pick up an extra £10kpw playing that caper, it's his look-out.

well spotted maybe if we combined the 2 we would have an exciting player on our hands?
