Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
If it's a long term (6months+) I can't help but think Stu will be back playing MLS football by the time their new season starts next year, we all know what a talent he is and how nice of a person he is but if this was anyone else who spends 2 years + out injured they'd be gone...

Plus Dougie's taking a leaf out of 'Arry's transfer dealings book and trying for some wheeler dealin':

Also on the Offish site it says at the bottom of the article that Holden had agreed a contract extension

As CSN&Y said, "Deja Vu" going on here.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

No. Its clear he was always going to get injured with the standard of opposition they were playing. Its clearly and irrefutably all Dougie's fault.boltonboris wrote:I don't think it is.Lord Kangana wrote:Its a very fair point.
It was an absolute no-brainer to let him go and play competetive football.

To play devil's advocate briefly, a contact injury from a horror tackle from a clogger is more preventable than Stu's knee going again when it looked right.Lord Kangana wrote:No. Its clear he was always going to get injured with the standard of opposition they were playing. That said, I've always thought people criticising Coyle for Lee were a bit nuts. Plenty reasons to criticise him without relying on a lack of psychic ability.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I don't think he was 'central' to any plans, but I think a large part of our hesitancy to go back in for Spearing was counting on a decent contribution from Holden.Lord Kangana wrote:We've done without Holden for over 2 years now. I'm not convinced that he was as central to any plans as is being made out. And I'm not sure it will suddenly free up funds that aren't available anyway. Bad luck for the lad, but.Bruno3 wrote:Might give the signing of Spearing campaign a push in the right direction if having Holden back had been part of the "masterplan".
At their peak under Coyle, Holden Lee and Cahill were all top six players if not better. Two are now broken and one has gone. That has to have an impact.

When the midfield of Moobs/Holden and Lee clicked. Whoosh

I must have seen Odelusi a handful of times now but I know literally nothing about him or how he plays! People (see Dougie) seem to rate him though.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
He had 10 minutes against Betis last week and looked a handful in the short time he had. Hopefully see a bit more of him this coming season.wanderers_on_tour wrote:I must have seen Odelusi a handful of times now but I know literally nothing about him or how he plays! Pretty much says here we need to move some out before bringing in.
Bit tricky now I'd say, as can we afford to let Andrews go anywhere? Not for me, given Holden's injury and with Vela not being fit yet.
Then if you release Mills we've hardly got much cover at the back, though probably more than in midfield. So Mills it would have to be. Whether he alone (presumably on a loan) would cover say the money for Spearing I don't know.

Why don't you rate him ? Bearing in mind you thought Afobe was our best striker at one point.bwfcdan94 wrote:I don't. I'd offer Mills, Ream and Pratley a settlement tomorrow if I had the money

We need Pratley big-time. MOM for me against Betis. Seemed to have developed some skillz over pre-season.plymouth wanderer wrote:If Pratters ain't on much i'd keep

He earns in excess of a million pounds every season.
Darren Pratley. Possibly the worst footballer in the division. Making millions out of us.
Get rid.
