Even though I was at the game, I have absolutely no recollection of Julio Cesar, from the season that we started with a home win over Charlton.

A Brazilian full back. I quite liked what I saw but he became marginalised and left quite soon.

I'm sure there was a story behind it, but it was never explained why he fell from grace.

Can I ask who yellow card from the first team sheet is please?

Great article Bish. Really bring back some of the good and the bad memories of the past 12 years or so, I cant even remember anything before 2001 mind for obvious reasons. One thing that dis strike me was how strange it was that we had played Fulham twice and Burnley three times! it must be intentional by the F.A.

I especially enjoyed Villa away even though we only drew, I remember Kevin Phillips scored a wonder goal for them.

Sorry Jim, I'm away this weekend. Didn't we all chip in advice for an out-of-towner - Andy Waller, maybe?

Yep - any ideas where it will be on?

Indeed. I thought he was half decent. Don't really know what happened with him.

Strange the bits that you remember. The Burnley game in 2000, everyone spent the first half wondering who the little black fella was running up and down the wing. The quest wasn't helped because that season, for some reason, the players names on their shirts wee displayed in red lettering on blue shoulder panels - and as such completely unreadable from the stands. At half time word came through that the mystery figure was in fact Isaiah Rankin that we'd signed, that morning I think, on loan from Bradford.

Wasn't Haymarket Sports Cafe decided as the go-to licenced premise?

Looking forward to this game, I'll be watching from a pub in Bratislava.
Bogdan,
Baptiste, Knight, Wheater, Tierney
Andrews, Medo, Pratley
Ngog, Eagles
Beckford

Hope that Sordell finally comes good this season, but I'm not convinced from what I've seen of him in a BWFC shirt. But if he does, and Beckford can bag 15 or so, then we're looking a hell of a better team.

Not a clue! I'm staying near canary wharf and have to be at the Excel in the morning but should be free to get pretty much anywhere in time for kick off.

Gonna have a crack at the starting lineup:

-----------Bogdan
Baptiste Knight Wheater Tierney
-----Andrews Pratley----------
Lee----------------------- Hall
--------------Eagles
--------Sordell

Bench: Beckford, Mills, Lonergan, C.Davies, Medo, Eaves, Ream

Can't see Sordell lasting the full 90, not when we've got options to play around with when fitness starts to tire, would be nice to see him having a good go though. Strikers on the bench offer quite a variety there. Think Eaves might get the nod alongside Beckford, but if we've got one up front i'd imagine Craig Davies would get the nod.

Medo will be the first name on the team sheet. Medo is Dougie's Jedinak.

One question I have had for years an if any of you have managed then you will be able to tell me but which do managers pick first the formation or the players they are going to play. Seems like a bit of a chicken egg question

You cant pick the players until you know what positions need filling. I would go with formation.
