Good question. I rate vela; seems another injury prone one though. Were we peddling him about fof a loan recently? Or was dougie saying he needed to stay with our staff to get fit?thebish wrote:is josh vela still alive?

They were planning to loan him, but felt his injuries prevented that and DF then went on to infer that our training regime was incompatible for the lad's progress and maybe we'd need to devise a personal programme for him.officer_dibble wrote:Good question. Confused ? ... You will be !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I have continually said he will never live up to expectation. Maybe this will be another step to buying people over. Can see him disappearing of the face of the earth Michael Johnson(you know England's next hope not to long ago)>
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Suspect as yesterdays man (alebit still contracted), many won't be interested but Keith Andrews in the Mail
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... eland.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's been a breath of fresh air for me joining Brighton. The club made a big impression on me when I played against them for Bolton last season, in terms of their style of football and their new stadium, and when they came in for me it was a very easy decision in footballing terms. It’s not an easy decision, moving 250 miles away from your home in the north-west, but Brighton made it very clear they wanted me and Bolton made it clear they didn’t. It came out of the blue, but I felt it was a chance to be a part of something really exciting.
It was a bit strange, the way I left Bolton and joined Brighton on loan until the end of the season. I played for Bolton in the first two games of the season and was training as normal one morning and then, in the afternoon, I started getting all these calls about other clubs. Bolton were signing Jay Spearing from Liverpool, but nobody from the club phoned me. It all changes so quickly – it’s not a nice side of football, but you can’t really expect much more from the game and I certainly looked at it like a blessing in disguise
Another case which makes you wonder how we treat players - cue, every clubs the same, who cares, wouldn't bother me on £30k a week etc comments; but also how a player deemed not good enough for us seems good enough for them.

He probably is good enough for us. But the manager prefers Spearing. On Andrews' wage, there was no way we were having both.

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
Spearing has not been playing well, but I'd still prefer to him to Andrews. Seems a decent pro though and I suspect his contribution is more than his limited footballing ability suggests. Takes a decent penalty as well but he's not been good for us, seems like another who is injury prone and he's not going to improve like Spearing might.boltonboris wrote:He probably is good enough for us. Sit next to a brighton fan at work. loved him at first and couldn't believe we'd let him go. Described him as a 'class act.
This has now inevitably dissapated into 'negative player... no impact... we'll be sending him back'.
Still - I don't like reading that the club treat people poorly, agree it happens alot.
