So why hasn't he been offered a new contract if it runs out in the summer?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:...and has started eight of the last nine games, so it doesn't seem like Rene Meulensteen's packing the bloke's bags.bwfcdan94 wrote:would still do a better job then any other defender at our football club, he might be 34 but he still captain both Fulham and the NI national team.

And Meulensteen has only been there 5 minutes. He probably thinks he's s
decent but will look to replace him with a younger player. Dougie was still picking SKD don't forget til the toys went out of the pram.

Aaron Hughes used to be good, he's been utter wank recently though.

Playing regularly recently for Fulham hardly constitutes a glowing reference.Prufrock wrote:Aaron Hughes used to be good, he's been utter wank recently though.

I saw them twice over Christmas, plus he seems to give a goal away a game on MOTD.

I know he's not always on his game but he's positive and wants to take people on and make things happen. strikes me as a kind of player who wants to take every free kick etc and don't think it helps him to be in and out of the side and for others to seemingly have taken the deadball specialist role (e.g. spearing !!!!)
The trouble with Eagles is that after his good performances in the early and latter parts of the last season he has reverted to his inconsistent showpony displays.
I don't think his heart is in it.
just seen the eagles post middlesboro interview. seems resigned to the idea that he won't feature in away game teams in our current predicament !

Does this mean Dougie has some sort of a plan to differenciate between losing at home or away?StaffsTrotter wrote: just seen the eagles post middlesboro interview. seems resigned to the idea that he won't feature in away game teams in our current predicament !

DF at home "its individual errors that cost us, but we are creating chances and it'll come soon"TANGODANCER wrote:Does this mean Dougie has some sort of a plan to differenciate between losing at home or away?StaffsTrotter wrote: just seen the eagles post middlesboro interview. seems resigned to the idea that he won't feature in away game teams in our current predicament !
DF away: "Its fine lines, we're creating chances so I'm happy with that and it's close and will come together soon"
See, its really easy to differenciate
Re: Lost the last one, Boro chance to put it right
And what happens if somebody nips in the day his contract runs out/ the day Fulham offer him a new contract and offer him more money. Very risky strategy to play with your captain (Well not in our case because we have the muppet as captain).ChrisC wrote:Relegation risk.Jez wrote:It's not Summer yetbwfcdan94 wrote:So why hasn't he been offered a new contract if it runs out in the summer?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:...and has started eight of the last nine games, so it doesn't seem like Rene Meulensteen's packing the bloke's bags.bwfcdan94 wrote:would still do a better job then any other defender at our football club, he might be 34 but he still captain both Fulham and the NI national team.
