I'm convinced clubs will take the piss on FFP and get away with it. I'm also convinced BWFC are overegging its importance as way to make mecessary cost-cutting more palatable to the supporters. I think Iles knows this but is toeing the party line and keeping the club sweet.
I suspect but am just guessing that they don't want to give Dougie any more money because he's been shit and they don't trust him with it. If we were 6th I think they'd be finding funds.
I agree with what the board are doing, seeing out the season cheaply before a clearout.

SSN just went with a shot of Big Ben chiming away. I'm surprised that they didn't show a caretaker unceremoniously slamming a window shut with a long pole, such is their usual appallingly clumsy use of visual imagery with their reports.

Great. Transfer deadline been an gone an despite being in dire straights offensively and defensively we strengthen the midfield. Seems like we've weakened this transfer window. Makes you wonder what business we couldn't pull off.

Wigan failed to get the Dawson deal over the line. That gives us until the loan window to find the dosh. Talks of a fundraiser going round social media to make it happen

The loan window then -

Is it maximum 3 month loans (ie same situation as last season, we could sign a player and he would go back before the season ended?)

And, can money change hands, meaning we'll just get outbid by wigan for dawson?

Also how many weeks? 2? Without a left back!

I would play Spearing at full back (did it for liverpool) and move baptist over to the left. If Ream is fit i would pair him with Mills. Sorted..........

Aye he is but I'm sure it would be after when the window opens, if and this is a big if we can get the money together for Dawson then that would be a damn sight better than the shambles of the Transfer window

Window opens Friday

I'm not sure we can afford NOT to get the money together to lian Dawson. ffs - the need to sort out the defence, the need to stay in the division, to get more fans to turn up, to get the fans more on-side during the current fiasco. We've just shipped out N'Gog's £30k pw.

I'm more fearful that Dawson will simply see Wiggin as a better long term bet than us right now .... and that wasn't easy to type.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I fear we're just repeating the same mistakes as when we came down. It's always jam tomorrow - once we're relegated, we'll win more. Once we change managers, we'll win more. Once we sort out the backroom, formation and tactics, we'll win more. Wait, once we get rid of the overpaid players, we'll win more. Blah blah blah.

Bobo is bob on. If Dougie has to walk all the way down the M6 and give him a piggy back to fetch him, he needs to get Dawson. His one real signing of note in the year and half he's been here.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Have I missed something? Why haven't we signed Mason? Solskear(sp?) said we could have him. :conf:
