It felt like we played without a striker when Beckford was up front and that didn't turn out too well did it? (Yes I know he scored for Preston at the weekend but even a broken clock's right once a day)

Monday is a day of the week. In that day it'll be correct twice. ;)

A stopped clock is right twice a day. A clock which runs five minutes slow per hour is still broken, but rarely right.

One, four, nine o'clock, thirteen o'clock rock!
Twelve, two, eight o'clock, lamp o'clock rock!
One, one, one o'clock, bee o'clock rock!
I'm gonna rock around the shit clock tonight....
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Not that rare. Every twelve hours it will lose an hour, so will be correct once every 144 hours, or every six days. If it lost a minute an hour it would be right just over once a month. Now if it lost a second an hour it would be rarely right - about once every five years.

Just because on some other thread which I can't find now from last week I suggested putting Trotter up front and you found it hilarious. My memory isn't what it was (and it was never great) so if I've confused you with somebody else I'm sorry
Aaahhh, I have a vague memory of it. My memory is also not what it was :D

Anyway, from what it sounds, it sounds like my playing with no strikers suggestion was taken and proven a good one 8)

It was never in doubt once we'd replaced Eidur's overly stationary enganche with Trotter's uber-mobile raumdeuter... :D
