Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Re: Wembley FA Cup Choir
This has to stop. It was bad enough when it was Russel Watson or Carline Jenkins (not quite so bad as 'our' Russ I'll give you) but please just let the band play the tune. We'll sing, everyone finishing at different times and then we can get on with it.
Where will it end?

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Not been to Wembley since Leeds/Liverpool in 1965. (Life got in the way) . No tenors or sopranos back then, just a band master and a hundred thousand voices who together produced an unforgettable ten minutes.coffeymagic wrote:This has to stop. The trotters fan in the choir is a church warden who was one of the main opponents of the shirt sponsorship with QuickQuid.Gravedigger wrote:Well, A1, I was pointing out that there was a Trotters supporter in the Wembley choir. Feck knows why you give it large about the church and Wonga and Quick Quid. Or perhaps you have appointed yourself as board censor. Please accept my apologies for upsetting your tender feelings and I promise to liaise with you should I feel the need to post anything again.

Thanks for that info, Nicko58. Much appreciated. We ex-pats tend to be out of the loop on a whole deal of things.Nicko58 wrote:The trotters fan in the choir is a church warden who was one of the main opponents of the shirt sponsorship with QuickQuid.Gravedigger wrote:Well, A1, I was pointing out that there was a Trotters supporter in the Wembley choir. This is one of those threads that the more it's explained the more baffling it gets. I'm lost.

Don't. It's like the crossword in the Sunday Times. I'll never crack it, though I somehow take a pleasure in being baffled by it.TANGODANCER wrote:Indeed.jaffka wrote:You do have it in your power to prevent any more baffling postsTANGODANCER wrote:This is one of those threads that the more it's explained the more baffling it gets. not sure what the problem is. that's the guy. and that's what he did.
singer at the fa cup / songs of praise = anti quickquid warrior moralist = same guy
fair enough,- "theres a man in a bolton shirt on songs of praise" wasnt a question. but answering who it was wasnt totally off topic.
i didnt have to be in the country to know (or remember) what happened... or be Tolstoy or owt
