If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Eddie Davies has every right to want to pull out after all the time and money he has invested. What I don't get though, is why he would want us to be scraping the bottom of the barrel to get players in. If he wants out then fair enough.. but don't just press the stop button and sit around waiting for somebody else to take over whilst the club continues to sink.
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
We have very few player assets to sell, so can't see us getting rid of any players which means it looks bad bringing in new faces.

It quite clearly said to me, "If only we had a better transfer thread on The Wanderer, I wouldn't be in this shit"Gary the Enfield wrote:bobo the clown wrote:It has an air of "I'm doing my bit but getting no-where ..."plymouth wanderer wrote:Sounds frustrated! It smacks of "I wouldn't be scratching round like this at Leicester"

I understand the difficulty he's having in the transfer market, not too comfortable with the amount of time he spends hanging around in gents toilets.Worthy4England wrote:It quite clearly said to me, "If only we had a better transfer thread on The Wanderer, I wouldn't be in this shit"Gary the Enfield wrote:It smacks of "I wouldn't be scratching round like this at Leicester"bobo the clown wrote:It has an air of "I'm doing my bit but getting no-where ..."plymouth wanderer wrote:Sounds frustrated! It was £27.5m at June 14 Accounts, since which the BN reported we unloaded £5m through getting shut of Beckford, Mills, Andrews, lonergan and Cravies which it attributed £100k per week to. We also shunted Bogdan, CYL and some others which I'm guessing puts us uner £20m..Peter Thompson wrote:Surely we still don't have a wage bill of £26M ?
If so its astonishing IMO, who on earth are we still paying high wages to ?

I imagine the likes of Ream, Wheater, Spearing and Pratley would be on a decent whack

I wouldn't be surprised if Lennon had a constantly changing remit of what he can and can't do as a manager.
One minute told he has money then a day later getting told we need to get people out to get people in.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Unless we get a couple of decent attacking players in before the season starts, IMO we will continue to struggle to challenge for the top 10 - we are still lacking creativity, pace & an out and out goal scorer - I think as a absolute minimum we need a good pacy winger (because Feeney is nowhere near good enough IMO) and a Le Fondre type 10-15 goals a season forward.
But with no money, its not looking possible is it - therefore we somehow need to get rid of a few central midfielders to fund them - 2 or 3 from the likes Medo, Spearing, Danns & Trotter as long as 2 of them are Danns & Trotter !!
But then again who on earth would pay money for those two....

If you're talking about transfer fees to break a contract, we didn't...Peter Thompson wrote:Unless we get a couple of decent attacking players in before the season starts, IMO we will continue to struggle to challenge for the top 10 - we are still lacking creativity, pace & an out and out goal scorer - I think as a absolute minimum we need a good pacy winger (because Feeney is nowhere near good enough IMO) and a Le Fondre type 10-15 goals a season forward.

He clearly still wants rid of Medo and Spearing. Spearing is making "I think I'll stay" noises, which would be a shame.
Dannsy can do a job ... as a squad player.
Trotter ... well, Trotter ...

Leicester have appointed Ranieri. Lennon won't be transferring out.

Wish Leicester had got some one better. We're going to be here again at Xmas.

Well, we'll see. Kind of depends how Lennon's next six months go.Prufrock wrote:Wish Leicester had got some one better. We're going to be here again at Xmas.

It's not that Ranieri is necessarily a bad manager, but he rarely hangs around very long. So, yup, we'll either be back here in 6 months or 12 months.

Yes we could be 23rd at Christmas, in which case I think we'll have no problem keeping him!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Well, we'll see. Kind of depends how Lennon's next six months go.Prufrock wrote:Wish Leicester had got some one better. We're going to be here again at Xmas.

At least we know where we are with lennon. Megson, coyle and freedman just gave us nothing.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Lennon in the BN:
"If we’re going to bring someone in, it looks like there has to be someone going out. It’s a juggling act at the minute. It’s a source of frustration when you consider how much money I’ve saved since we came through the door but that’s just the reality of the situation. Unless that changes, we work within our limitations.
“We’ve cleared quite a substantial amount of money off the wage bill so we are looking to improve the squad, but we have found it very difficult. Things won’t happen overnight and I’d tend to think there will be more business done between now and the start of the season, that things will probably hot up when we get back to England.
"We have our eye on one or two players and there may be a couple more players going out. Conor Wilkinson has already gone, Sanmi Odelusi has gone, and I think there will be more. We still need strengthening in one or two positions quite urgently, goalkeeper being one of them. We still have quite a bit of work to do.”
