Norwich apparently in for a striker from Roma. That would allow Hooperman out to us, presuming no one makes a cash bid.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Some early morning speculation that the man in might be Kenwyn Jones. Cardiff want to sell not loan and I can't see him being Lennon's type of player.

Lennon said a pacy attacker. Kenwyne Jones is not pacy from my recollection.Bijou Bob wrote:Some early morning speculation that the man in might be Kenwyn Jones. Cardiff want to sell not loan and I can't see him being Lennon's type of player.
The way Lennon has worded it, makes me think it isn't an out and out striker we are getting, more of a wide man?

Jonesy is too similar to Madine and Heskey ... can't see him being the one.
Unless he's already given up on Madine

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
A friend of mine asked Lennon on Thursday during a press conference if there was any interest in Jones from our side. Lennon denied any interest whatsoever, so unless he's playing his cards extremely close to his chest we can probably rule that one out.
I suspect it will be a wide man. With Heskey and Madine we have target men, but lack decent crossers of the ball, and as long as that continues we aren't putting them to best use. Cough and Clayton should be scoring a good amount too in an effective partnership with the big guys up top.
I'd like to see the Citeh lad come in. Would be over the moon with Hooper, but doubt we can get close to affording his wages. Are there any Celtic wingers who have fallen out of favour lately?

Wingers are fine but I worry that the bigger problem is sticking the ball in the net regularly. We've created chances against Derby and Burton, more than enough chances against Burton at least but nobody could take them.bobby wrote:A friend of mine asked Lennon on Thursday during a press conference if there was any interest in Jones from our side. In the Derby game I think Madine was very unlucky to not have scored 1 or 2, and didn't see the Burton match but it is concerning not to have stuck a few past them.
In truth I feel we need both, but without adequate service our front men will struggle to find the back of the net. Can Moxey, Wilson, Feeney, Walker, Danns, Pratley provide the wide play to create quality chances? If so then let's chase a striker all guns blazing, if not then I think its a wide man we need.

Yes, NL referred to an "attacking player" rather than a striker at this morning's press conference. He also implied that the goals would come from Clough, Madine and Clayton.BWFC_Insane wrote: The way Lennon has worded it, makes me think it isn't an out and out striker we are getting, more of a wide man?

Hopefully a new attacker today and Pisano tomorrow. Exciting times.
