He also thinks we are winning tomorrow AT forest green rovers….even though we aren’t that good away from home…

FWIW!
Playing two away fixtures this season as part of the Bakayoko agreement. ITK. Bit in the paper.

As an aside, Frank Lampard has been shown the door at Everton.

Reliable journo reporting we expect Dec to go, with Cheltenham interested.

Not the name I've heard, but there was a barrier to him going that was resolved last week and I thought he might be gone by now.

Best for all parties it gets sorted this week.

Re. Hoskins - I'd be quite surprised if the board are prepared to sanction the paying of a six-figure sum for a 29-year-old with his career record.

I haven’t seen loads of Adeboyjo but I’d be pretty excited if we signed him. He works hard off the ball and makes some good runs into the box to attack the ball. His goalscoring numbers pre-Burton aren’t anything to shout about, but players mature at different rates and he’s still pretty young having only just turned 25 two weeks ago. He’s quick and strong - can do both the hold up and running in behind.

Great example of his hold up and link up play at 0:29 in the below video:

I’m hoping (and pretty sure) the Hoskins rumour is a load of bobbins. He turns 30 in a couple of weeks and has never been anything other than an average L1 forward when playing at this level before. No chance we’re paying six figures for him.

A 29 year old midget winger who has 15 goals in 124 games at this level and really has only been successful in league two.

I’d go further. I’d say it would be a completely bonkers transfer that would defy any logic and be completely contradictory to all the stuff we’ve seen thus far.

Adeboyejo makes sense to some extent but Hoskins I think would be about as ridiculous as I can remember. A lad who plays in a system we’ve just sold Dapo because we don’t play. A player who undoubtedly is a downgrade.

Nah. If we sign him then I don’t think there is any grand plan it’s just grab whoever we randomly think is scoring goals at the time. That wouldn’t be a good thing in my view. Not when they are a league two player for a system we won’t play.

Having done a little bit of digging I can't see any basis for the Hoskins rumour.

Do you mean the rumour is not likely to be true or that it makes no sense as a transfer?

Iles sort of has confirmed him as a target has he not?

I believe Brommers has kept at least as much of an eye on Northampton as I have, so I'd value his input on this one. League 2 Jarrod Bowen, Brommers?
I really can't see us being seriously interested in spending cold hard cash on Hoskins tbh. A decent L2 player and if we were signing him on a free to be a rotation option I'd be fine with it while not particularly enthused.

But actual money on him? No way José.

The first mention I've seen of it on Twitter looks like it's from a fake account with 201 followers. Not the most reputable source...

Marc's involvement was the only reason to view it was newsworthy, certainly.

Apologies for the delay - was eating my tea and reading about The Simpsons' monorail episode.

∆ Aye - and there is not a trace of it on The Athletic.

The perils of Twitter. Iles said that two names are in the open, then that some experience made sense, but he has since mentioned "blank faces" at the Hoskins rumour.

Actually just looking at Marc Iles Twitter and seems to be saying it’s nonsense. But something in Ade. Which makes sense.

Last week, we pretty much had to get anyone in, this week we have to have a better plan? It feels like whichever way Evatt turns, he;s going to have turned the wrong way.

Well, I'm somewhat glad in that case. As I said, not one I'd have signed for us. Could have seen justifications, but an odd one going for a player who wants to play wide when we've just sold one (and have another on the bench) who didn't fit for that reason.

It passed an hour. Just under 196 more to go.

We can get through half of league two by the end of the window.

Glorious. *halo*

No. Last week we had to get better in then we let go. That still remains the same.

How are you defining 'better'? Better as an objective fact, or better in terms of what we need in the current system?

Not sure we'll get a player who is just flat better than Dapo. Might well get someone who will do better for us than he has in the past year.
