He looks like a big beast. Probably what we need, and were largely crying out for last season.TANGODANCER wrote:Apparently, he's coming to Bolton this week to finalise talks and have a medical. Roma could only offer him squad status...or so it reads.Worthy4England wrote:Think there was some stuff on this guy a few pages back. Wonder if/why Reading dropped out of the interested parties list...

Abdoulaye Faye being mentioned on twitter.

from what's been said - it would seem Coyle would like to keep knight... but if Knight won't agree new terms - then someone else it is...

Think the man himself said Mills deal would likely be completed now anywaythebish wrote:Tombwfc wrote:I've probably seen Matt Mills play about half a dozen games ever, so I'm not going to pretend I know all about him. I was impressed with Andrews last year and I think he's done well in the Euros so far. He seems like Ireland's liveliest player, who is always involved at both ends. He's the type of player who'll look excellent in the Championship, I think.
I'm really pleased with the signings we're looking at making. We're going to have better options than last year, I think.

Andrews would be ok IMO. Nowt special but we are in the championship. Reality is getting him would be a coup given where we are.
Not sure he woud fire us to promotion alone, but would be a vital cog.

He is not being signed as cover - first team. Anyone who thinks we dont need some wise heads in there is as clueless as coyle. Coyle, who by signing some wise heads is ironicly appearing less clueless.

Although if all players were fit and granted to play again would Andrews start over Holden and Muamba ? What if Vela turns out to be the real deal ? Pratley is proven at this level and Mark Davies at this level could be outstanding. With a fit midfield we should be ok but with these midfielders Coyle is bringing in we still lack creativityofficer_dibble wrote:He is not being signed as cover - first team. We need two midfielders who can tackle playing
IF Muamba plays again fair does he can be one
otherwise its holden plus one
Mark Davies and pratley cant tackle
Seems like a simple equation to me
the only unknown being vela...who id be looking to bring through this year.

The European Championship has been depressing because I see players like Michael Krohn-Dehli from a modest club like Brondby and realize we have no chance of getting them.

Really? Not sure who this guy is but I seem to remember signing two Danish internationals after getting relegated from the Premiership in 1996.H. These opinions chime with mine. Shan't be hanging the bunting but I've never disliked Andrews, who puts in an honest shift and is exactly the kind of diligent midfielder we need in Coyle's attacking system.officer_dibble wrote:He is not being signed as cover - first team. Andrews scored 9 in 20 for Ipswich on loan last season. Not bad for a midfielder!
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
andrews seems like a perfectably acceptable signing, i can't say i've seen too much of him but 9 goals in 20 at this level is a nice statistic and it's a position of need.

I'd take him...no point being precious about not loaning spanish starlets this season.
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
i really think if he were fit at the back end of the season, the jammy bastard wouldve kept us up.Bruce Rioja wrote: I think you'll find that the Redoucalous Opinions thread is in 'Other Footy', a1
that goal he scored against *whoever it were* from about four inches ("davies , elmander wouldve missed that"- i thought) i could then see it.
