That long rumbling noise you may have just heard was Bruce shouting "Feckin get in" whilst running towards his work's bogs holding a big pack of kleenex mansize.Riviman wrote:From Marc Iles
Sources in South Yorkshire say Rotherham United are in talks to sign Gary Madine. Furthermore, utility man Tom Thorpe could be heading in the other direction.

Is he the mixed race lad or is that Karl?

Not sure why we'd get rid of Madine at this stage...hasn't he and Proctor basically been one of the reasons we've done well so far? I mean I agree that Madine is essentially shite. But he's bagged a few goals.
Bit of an odd one. I don't see how getting shut of first choices makes us stronger....
Trust in Parky I guess.

James Henry is a 6ft, late-twenties Wolves player, predominantly right-wing, has also played elsewhere in midfield and up front and has done well on his odd forays down into this division. Whereas Karl Henry's a nice person.boltonboris wrote:Is he the mixed race lad or is that Karl?
This Bradford fan and sports writer appears astonished that we'd swap the Machine for Tom Thorpe, but then he appears to think Madine "would win [us] this league". Then again, he now thinks Conor McAleny will win Bradford the league, so I think he might just be a bit excited.

If "left, by mutual consent" then he's non-contract. Does that change any of our situation other than makes it being today less vital ?thebish wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Only 5'9" thoughDave Sutton's barnet wrote:Hmm:

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

ah that's ok then.. He's not bad from memory. Certainly no shame in playing second fiddle to that Van La Parra guy. He looks mustard. Didn't we miss out on him last Jan?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:James Henry is a 6ft, late-twenties Wolves player, predominantly right-wing, has also played elsewhere in midfield and up front and has done well on his odd forays down into this division. If anyone is capable of calming him the fck down in front of goal he should score a sackful.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:James Henry is a 6ft, late-twenties Wolves player, predominantly right-wing, has also played elsewhere in midfield and up front and has done well on his odd forays down into this division. Not that this is likely of course.
Oh ... & stop him being a soft arse. Get him involved when it gets rough. Go in where it hurts. Stop going down under the slightest challenge and, generally, stop being shite.
Next week ... World peace.

Iles now suggesting Madine isn't necessarily going.

We might have; I can't remember, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.boltonboris wrote:ah that's ok then.. He's not bad from memory. Had no interest, last night, when he was still a Bratfurt player. Wouldn't astonish me to see him turning up here next week if our other targets fall through (and assuming we have the SCMP headroom).BWFC_Insane wrote:Wouldn't have to sign today. I'm pretty sure Van La Parra was the guy who was all but signed immediately before we stopped paying wages, the severity of Gartside's condition was revealed and Lennon's head fell off. And James Henry was the guy who scored an absolute screamer against us in the last minute two seasons back.
Also, on the subject of Madine, is it completely unfair to say that basically anyone could've scored the goals he has so far this season, and actually his general play is no better than it was last year?

Bit unfair. He has worked hard in my view and been a bit more effective. Not hugely, but certainly improved a little. Might just be the lower level of course.Tombwfc wrote:I'm pretty sure Van La Parra was the guy who was all but signed immediately before we stopped paying wages, the severity of Gartside's condition was revealed and Lennon's head fell off. But don't care how hard or easy his goals are so long as he bangs a few in.

Faaaak, where to start.
Alnwick - great shout, always got him and smos confused (looks like I need amos' specs) before we signed the blind one.
Henry - happy with him.
Madine out? Not so sure but Proctors similiar. The 23 man squad thing.
Walker must be off?
Thorpe...Always distrust plsyers described as 'utility man'. Never be a Scott Green.

Re: For new signings, ask the man from the Pru
The misses he made last season had zero to do with the competition. When missing a 2 yard free header into an open goal, or skying an effort over the bar when no-one anywhere near him it's irrelevant whether it's Joe Hart in goal or my grandmother. It takes a special talent to achieve some of those last year ... or than one last night for example.

Gary Madine of last season could have missed them!Tombwfc wrote:I'm pretty sure Van La Parra was the guy who was all but signed immediately before we stopped paying wages, the severity of Gartside's condition was revealed and Lennon's head fell off.
