Therefore we won't be able to offer him a first team spot either especially when sparky gets back

Didn't we create more than anyone else last season but fail to put them away?Norpig wrote:We really need some creativity in midfield, with Davis out until at least Jan we will have to look for a replacement. No good having all these strikers if we are not creating anything!! Moritz played well for Palace in this league, so would be a good buy.ChrisC wrote:Andre Moritz has left Palace today after refusing to resign because they wont guarantee him a starting place. Put your house on Dougie signing him. Mark Davies type player so will do be snapped up no doubt.

Daily Fail reporting Beckford as signed - what do we reckon 10-15 goals for season ?

Can I guess in May sometime?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
If Ricketts has left by mutual contract calculation I'm guessing we've probably paid him to leave rather than got a fee or even nothing. Maybe Dougie wants to free up some wages for something?
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Huddersfield still owed £5.5m for Rhodes and yet Dingles bid £3m for Spearing. The mind boggles

Gone on a "Free" according to the Beeb. Watch him become a star now.Jez wrote:If Ricketts has left by mutual contract calculation I'm guessing we've probably paid him to leave rather than got a fee or even nothing. Maybe Dougie wants to free up some wages for something?
Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

The Oracle suggesting that there is a tale to tell about the Beckford 'deal' and what's holding it up. Cryptic barsteward

Nixon said they are offering it on drip in a strange manner. Can't see it happening myself.TKIZ! wrote:Huddersfield still owed £5.5m for Rhodes and yet Dingles bid £3m for Spearing. The mind boggles

Grat signing for them, and as TKIZ suggests he's ben named captain. Hopefully for him he'll unite a dispirited dressing room. Always liked Sam, but as has been pointed out, releasing him by mutual consent means we don't have to settle up his wages as he takes a drop to join Wolves.Gravedigger wrote:Gone on a "Free" according to the Beeb. On the Beckford front all I meant was that Leicester are apparently holding the deal up.
Samuel Ricketts is a very nice man and I wish him all the best, like him as a professional

Aye. Nice bloke. Sums him up.
Well rid.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Sad to see him leave to be honest. We've brought in Baptiste who despite playing for Blackpool will be a seemingly unknown quantity in our team (take a while to bed in). I'd've prefered Mears to make way as Ricketts' versatility made the difference between the two. Wolves have signed a good player but like the manager has said its only fair to the player if we can't go ahead and guarantee his starting position.
Club captain at Wolves is certainly a move he can be happy with.

By versatility do you mean jack of all trades master of none?
I actually think he could only play one position now - centre half. Legs have gone. And as much of a left back as jimmy phillips was a right back.
From what I saw of Mears post Coyle he didnt do much wrong... When fully fit he's the far more useful player now imo.

He's a utility man. (Equally shit in every position)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
