It is meant to be the subtlest of ironies and about the reappropriation of language, as in a rapper bearing himself the nomenclature of "n****" or indeed MU fans repeating the "who the f*ck..." It reappropriates since it leaves opposition fans less likely to chant it and therefore is quite a clever psychological ploy. Probably still sounds stupid though.
Thanks for that. It's the only explanation that makes sense lol
A bit before my time but... we used to chant "Ohhh Franky Franky.." for Frank Worthington so you can see why opposition supporters might have changed it.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Not before my time - but they did indeed change it - usually before he bagged a brace against them - DMB's

Bastard. Hope you recover from that snub.

"Drink through it" would be my advice.
Would that be inside or outside the pub?

Good advice, I kept my end up.

Outside is just wrong!

how come they pitch up on the bus now? sure we used to watch em arrive one by one and check out their motors.

do they stay in a hotel the night before a home game? why dont they use our own hotel?

They did used to. Lennon has decreed that stops. That they spend the night before a game in the same place.

He is a PR dream. None of that assures pitch-side success but it's such a contrast from what we've had. Going into the FanZone, whoever thought of that well done.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

He's not just a PR dream. He's my idea of the perfect manager...wants all the players to be together the evening before a match, so they feel like a team, gets among the fans, making them feel that they are involved with the team/club. Gets everybody fired up/motivated, even looking forward to a game (whoever thought eh?). It just feels right him being the manager, and long may it continue :)

I keep wondering about where we'd be if Lennon had come in during the summer, where he'd have had a full pre-season to work on tactics and the players wouldn't have been destroyed mentally by playing in such a stifling system under a manager they didn't like. I think we'd be closer to the top 3 than bottom 3.
Aye.
