If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

He does have a tendency to jump the gun.
Ah yes, who can possibly forget you doing fish kisses with him in a pub bogs whilst he span you a line about Trotter? :)
Your fantasies concern me deeply!

Garry Birtles thinks Trotter is a key signing for the defensive midfield role. I wonder if Dougie would've preferred Medo or Spearing but couldn't pay the wages under FFP?

Does a lot of stuff for Sky as commentator's sidekick. Perpetually puzzled by players' inability.

There have been duller c*nts in the commentary box. His former Forest friend Trevor Francis, for instance, spent a droning decade saying nowt much. Birtles shares Tricky Trev's irritation with underperformance, but his perpetual high-eyebrowed "I can't believe how bad he is" schtick is at least of short-term interest, and he rarely gets games high-profile enough to see for anything longer than ten minutes.

Usual rule, though: if you've played football you're judged to be good at talking about it. I'm surprised they don't have horses commenting on the steeplechase.

I can't remember him being a 'cultured' striker when he played. Not particularly good or prolific and wasn't a great passer.

Aye, he was lucky to get those two European Cup winners medals.

Key signing !!

Any debate about whether Mr. Birtles knows anything has just ended.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Good. Though that shoulder needs sorting out.

Right decision of course but I'm not optimistic about that shoulder. I feared last season that he's too fragile and will have an injury record like mark davies. Better than Sean Davies I suppose!

On reflection I think we should deal him, never set the world on fire this time and he seems a bit of a Mavis perma crock!

I bet Sheffield Wednesday aren't quite as pissed off now as we were led to believe they were when we 'swooped' for him as a 'starlet'.
Talking of which, there's more in the BN about how Zach Clough has 'penned' a new deal. Is that used as a verb anywhere else in the English language? It's fecking diabolical.
