Applaud his name being read out before kick off, nothing either way after that. Wasn't particularly his biggest fan and I was pleased we got a good deal on him, but he was there all the way through the best of times wasn't he.

Well, I suppose he was there, but he wasn't really there, was he?Athers wrote:Applaud his name being read out before kick off, nothing either way after that. C'mon, for a couple of seasons he was one of the driving forces of that team. Goals at OT, Highbury and all that. Admittedly, when he left he was rubbish, but he really bought into the Allardyce era, and scored a few for us.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Good servant for the club, didn't ask to leave. Glad to see him doing well, though I hope he has a stinker come the weekend.

I liked Nolan and even when his performances dipped I still wanted him to stay. He was made a scapegoat for a lot of things going on and didn't deserve the abuse he was getting from some nuggets in the crowd.
Still think he's Bolton through-and-through and hope he carries on playing well for NUFC. Will clap him on and off the pitch but that's about it.
You can't forget the performances he put in while he was here.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Exactly, cept his performances didn't dip that much...he just struggled to score, and Nolan without goals is an easy targetcoffeymagic wrote:I liked Nolan and even when his performances dipped I still wanted him to stay. Feck me. People say Elmander 'owes us' and should 'show some loyalty' and then we get folk slagging Nolan off. He should get an absolute hero's reception, raise the roof both before the game and after. For the intervening 90 odd minutes, of course, I hope he has a shocker. Well part of me wants him to score a hattrick as we win 4-3, but you get the picture. Polite applause? Fook me. Danny Guthrie will get polite applause.

Yeah, actually. Couldn't run, couldn't tackle, couldn't head, not a great passer. Which is fine when you're scoring 11 goals a season and have Ivan Campo and Gary Speed to do your grunt work. When you aren't scoring, it's hard to excuse that. Oh and his attitude absolutely sucked too. At least when Elmander had his bad spells he wasn't running around bitching at his teammates.hisroyalgingerness wrote:A conference walking mouth?
I do like the guy though and I hope he gets a good response. Especially since I suspect he was shipped out for trying to get Megson sacked, though I have no evidence to back that up.
