Would help if Shoretire could offer something going forward. Thomason and Shoretire have been ineffective passing forward which has left us with only Sheehan and the wingers linking up play.
Thomason looking to play it safe, and Shoretire looking very sloppy and clumsy.
I'd imagine that if Shoretire gets a yellow here, he'll be off within this first half at this rate.

Sheehan has really come back into form since his injury - I’d say worth a new contract now.
Overall we’ve been pretty shite so far, though.

Need to keep it clean sheet and wait for the strike. I't'll come.

Has John touched the ball yet?

He has now, but surely should’ve squared it there.
Re: Pints, Punts and Points. Home v Cambridge United, Easter Monday 3-0'clock
Suspect our game plan is use what we've got and hopefully get a goal and if that doesn't work bring out the first team front three for impacting when they're tired. Can't really complain about that.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 3:31 pmNeed to keep it clean sheet and wait for the strike. I't'll come.
He's been good, granted. Can't imagine he'll be getting a new contract just yet. Solely based on the fact that theres injury concerns and possibly better options out there on our radar.
John squares that ball and its 1-0.

We're currently 7th...JSL...
Re: Pints, Punts and Points. Home v Cambridge United, Easter Monday 3-0'clock
Game in hand will help there.
There's no-one that's come in today that's really helped their cause for a first team berth. Seems like frustration has set in and everyones a little bit off the pace.
MOTM so far i'd argue would be Johnston, Sheehan looking decent. Everyone else not convincing.

Tough half that.
Can't fault them for trying to do the right thing, but it's just not coming off.
Will be reer in the 2nd half...
Oh - and WTF is wrong with a number of our fans - booing the team off at half time!! Idiots.

Going to have to use Kachunga up front and maybe Charles. In retrospcet, maybe both should have started. Disallowed goal to end the half...apparently...

But a bit expected? Sort of "after the Lord Mayor's show". We're going to have a few of these and fans expecting 4-0's every game are dreaming. Clean sheet, one goal and that'll do nicely.

That was poor, all over the park. I think we need some hair driers at HT....maybe throw a couple of cups...
Re: Pints, Punts and Points. Home v Cambridge United, Easter Monday 3-0'clock
Shoretire was offside. Decent finish by the lad though.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 3:51 pmGoing to have to use Kachunga up front and maybe Charles. In retrospcet, maybe both should have started. Disallowed goal to end the half...apparently...
Declan John squares the ball we go in 1 up, although they've hit the post so 0-0 might be deserving.

Have to change things in the 2nd half. Shoretire, Thomasson and Ade looking very ineffective. We are playing very slowly leaving a very limited Cambridge side all the time in the world to organize themselves defensively. Kacha, Charles and Lee need to be on the pitch.
Re: Pints, Punts and Points. Home v Cambridge United, Easter Monday 3-0'clock
Very close decision that for offside. Not sure it was tbh. Will have to see.

Not sure there is a score low enough for that performance. Absolutely unremittingly dire. A massive come down after Wembley.
Slow. Predictable. And frankly I’m not sure we are even that. Nobody seems to know what they are meant to be doing let alone what anyone else is meant to be doing.
Shoretire was absolutely woeful. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more inept midfield performance than that. Lad needs to learn he’s nowhere near this level yet and start actually playing rather than thinking he’s maradonna.
All over the park we’ve been utterly shocking. Our worst half of the season.
With the others winning we will have to step it up but can’t see it unless we introduce the cavalry off the bench.
