So did I. Considering it's based upon taciturnity, increasing aggravation and misheard utterances, it would have been a fitting and really quite clever reference. Should've known better.

I often go to the same hardware shop to buy candles...

I deliberately always ask for three - and I know that despite the fact that this conversation has now probably happened 100 times, the shop-keeper will always say..

"are you sure you don't want four? You know <adopts heavy cockerney accent> - four-candles?? hahahahahahahah!!!"
