If they call themselves 'Doctor' it'll be because they are one. Wether that's a doctor of medicine or a doctor of comic books.
You were quick to pooh-pooh 'anecdotes' despite the fact that I and others have given examples of when chiropractice has worked.

That's because they have totally different views on treatment of injuries. In my experience Doctors take the easy route, start guessing at symptoms you haven't described then send you off to the pharmacy to pay £7 for some pills you don't need.midlands exile wrote:I wouldn't call it "agenda driven". What about Sports Psychology? Feng Shue and Yoga. Allardyce did all of that stuff which is as much 'heresay' as any other science.

My Doctor's a fecking quack. Three times I wentto see him about hip pain. He didn't even examine me. Asked me to touch my toes (steady) and then lean to one side and the other, said it wasn't a back problem and prescribed painkillers.
Went to a Chiropractor and my physio who both suggested I had an MRI scan. Went back to the Doctor who said he would (reluctantly) refer me, even though I was going through my private insurance.
Turns out I had Coccydinia and a fractured Sacrum.
Quack.

There's a difference between GP's and specialists.boltonboris wrote:That's because they have totally different views on treatment of injuries. to get to a specialist - you normally have to go through your GP - who (for back pain) will normally simply describe pain-killers/muscle relaxants and hope it goes away...midlands exile wrote:

Even professional footballers? I can just see it - ngog, stuey, spearing and co getting run from the Reebok to the local NHS walkin clinic everyday, in that minibus we won in the sherpa van trophy (or similar)...thebish wrote:to get to a specialist - you normally have to go through your GP - who (for back pain) will normally simply describe pain-killers/muscle relaxants and hope it goes away...midlands exile wrote:

not sure I said that - you seemed to make a fairly general statement about chiropractors per se - ie. beyond the rarified footballing world..midlands exile wrote:Even professional footballers? so - are you alleging that specialist back doctors were available - but Coyle (because he is a malevolent force?) insisted that the player go to a quack chiropractor instead?
if not - what IS it that you are trying to say?

I'm saying that the tangent about sloppy GP's is irrelevant, as the whole chiropractor issue came up because ngog went to one, rather than you or me.thebish wrote:not sure I said that - you seemed to make a fairly general statement about chiropractors per se - ie. beyond the rarified footballing world..midlands exile wrote:Even professional footballers?
