Believe me - that performance today was a backward step based on previous performances. I like & believe in NL and he'll sort us out and will get us up next season, but today was bad - survival will be an achievementjmjhb wrote:One bad performance does not equal a backward step.
I honestly can't see NL putting up with many more performances like that - he was fuming at times on the side of pitch....several players today were not just bad they were truly awful. We looked like a team of strangers who hadn't played together before, and the passing & decision making was shocking.
Mills & Dervite were also very poor today, individually and as a defensive pairing.

I think he will look to move Trotter on.
I'd like to see Vela come in and take his place in midfield and maybe give Riley a chance at RB.

Vela was impressive today, by far the best player on the pitchadamworthy2002 wrote:I think he will look to move Trotter on.

aye! it has been noted with increasing levels of seriousness!a1 wrote:he got injured or summat against Oman.thebish wrote: yeah - agree absolutely! I just think it puts the chungy thing in context - do we gamble with (pretty speculative) £1.5million in NOT selling him this january on the hope that he will help us into the playoffs... on this form - even with chungy - the playoffs are a long way off...

Easily, he's been superb recently. He can only get better and surely even better when playing in his proper position.Peter Thompson wrote:Vela was impressive today, by far the best player on the pitchadamworthy2002 wrote:I think he will look to move Trotter on.

There are vary few positives to take out of today's performance.
We didn't lose.
And we sit on row X so didn't suffer when the hail arrived.
That's it.

Lennon isn't a miracle worker but he has me and many others believing in him.
We are better than at the start of the season though, the league table shows that. Talk of going backwards is bullshit.
New players are needed though. Let's see what happens.

It wasnt that bad. I think leeds can count themselves lucky to have a point...they were truly shite.
Heskey played well. Vela was great. Im with riley at right back and getting vel central - for the lump trotter. Waste of space.
Weather ruined that match. Lonergan lucky to stay on maybe? Thought ref was fine first half no idea why he was booed.
Yeah we need new blood, and lee and spearing are the players to raise it. But we wont go down...
Probably lacked width, and a goalscoring threT. Though craig davies made a difference - at least he shoots. We should of been shooting from all over with that wind.

I'll try and be polite - do you actually bother to read posts....jaffka wrote:Lennon isn't a miracle worker but he has me and many others believing in him.

I said today was a backward step, in comparison to the progress that has been made under NL in recent weeks / months.
Sit through that today for 90 mins and tell me that it was 'a step in the right direction'....I'm hopeful that its a one off but it was a step backwards compared to the previous performances under NL

Ps where was clough?
Pissed off if he wasnt injured. To be dropped from the squad is a joke!

IMO a large part of our success under NL has been based on high intensity pressing. Under DF it often felt like we were playing with 10/9 men and unfortunately that feeling has been back recently. Eidur and Heskey should not be playing together they can't do what Davies and Clayton could. i don't understand why Lennon isn't seeing this, it's concerning. I don't think we really had any chance of winning after losing clough and going 1-0 down. 5 mins in, game over! season over??? not good enough.

Just back from the game now, it wasn't great to be fair. Vela should be moved into midfield as soon as possible, he's growing in confidence and it showed with a mammoth performance.
Trotter is rubbish, don't know what he added to the team today and really looking forward to seeing what players Neil can bring in
Onwards and upawards
I don't think it's a massive step back, under Freedman we'd have lost this game
Pfffft.

People saying he was injured, haven't had any confirmation yet though.officer_dibble wrote:Ps where was clough?

i suspect that the step back idea isn't looking back to Freedman - but looking back to earlier performances under Lennon...TKIZ! wrote:Agree with this post.jaffka wrote:Lennon isn't a miracle worker but he has me and many others believing in him.

I wasn't at the game - so I don't know - but some of those that were there are simply saying that this was a step back from what Lennon has got from these guys before... maybe there's only so far you can go with enthusiasm and energy and hard work... - we have a transfer window to gaze through now - so let's hope someone ace comes crashing through it!
and - yeah - we'd probably have crumbled after the early pen under Freedman!

He was injured. Lennon said a hamstring strain in the post-match interview.
