Arsenal v Bolton (match thread)

Post by Lennon'sEleven » Mon Sep 06, 2010 5:54 pm

Mods - feel free to remove this if the needlessly loud ARSENAL AWAY thread is going to start talking about the game, rather than a youth hostel and the merits of the local area.

However - there's a match on Saturday. My first of the season. And I want to start talking tactics, line-ups and predictions.

Bogdan in goal - poor lad.
Start with one up top, or stick with 4-4-2?

Them's the questions.

Anyway, I'm going for a spirited 3-1 defeat. They're looking pretty sharp this year, and even won away to Allardyce, which isn't something they manage very often.

I'll enjoy it though. Always do when we're away to a big club - nothing to lose and all that.

Unless they start assaulting our midfielders and scoring off the resulting move. That is likely to pee me right off.

now that Zulu has put Tango in protective custody - what else to do on on a rainy monday afternoon than clumsily stitch together some of Bolton's most awesome goals against the arse..

with apologies for one or two bits of fuzzy footage - but anyone who hasn't pumped a fist by the end is a girl!

Thanks for that thebish. What a ball from Campo to Anelka!

Can't understand anyone who says 'we're not expecting anything out of these next three games.' That isn't the Bolton ethos at all! Bring 'em on!

I'll never get bored seeing that strike from Anelka. Nice one Bish.

That game cost me a fortune, I was in Germany and could not find the game on tv so I phoned the wife back home in the UK got her to put the phone by the radio and I listend to the game. I even sat through the half time waffle. It was still worth it!

Faye's header was a big pumping fist from me - hit the back of the net like a bullet - and the look on Lehman's face...

also - anyone notice... MATTY TAYLOR....

So that's why Arsene doesn't like us!

That video cheered me up! I'm going to the Emirates so would love to see a performance like one of those! Debut for Moreno?

I hope Robinson smashes Walcott in the first five minutes. Play to the stereotype AND take out their biggest threat. Love it.

2-1 Arsenal, they will get something doogey.

Coyle will play 4-4-2, same team as Birmingham apart from Bogdan in the net.

Personally i would play 4-5-1
Bogdan
Steinsson Cahill Knight Robinson
K Davies Holden Muamba M Davies Petrov
Elmander

First Post :D

Its my first game of the season Im hoping for a little upset but realistically I'm not sure its going to happen. I feel sorry for Bogdan in net but hopefully he will come good again lots opf pressure for such a young keeper.

Im really really looking forward to this now!

Just called the ticket office to get my cousin and his Mrs a ticket but... sold out!

Should be about 1,200 of us they reckon.

Hoping for a good atmosphere for this one.

Is that, and last year the only times we've even scored there? I've been twice, the 1-1 being infinitely better that the 86th minute 1-0 fecking Bendtner winner. My second worst away game ever after the 1-0 89th fecking minute Igor Biscan winner at Anfield. THough in fairness they had Scott Carson in net that day, so the nil is pretty embarrassing.

Nah we scored there in Allardyces last season, Anelka scored IIRC. Then Nicky Hunt fecked up and we ended up losing 3-1 I think. We were still chasing a champions league spot then, though it was probably the limpest chase imaginable.
