Trip to a match
Hey Lads,
Thinking of heading over for the home game in April against West Ham.
It will be my first time so I was wondering what is the most direct route from Dublin?
Would it be: Flight from Dublin to Manchester and bus/train to Bolton??
Any help appreciated.

You could swim, or Ryanair it, or get the ferry. Your pick.
Bolton is easy to get to - you could walk, bus, train, horse-drawn carriage or cycle. Your pick.

Eire.. You're quoted travel is the best way to go (if not the only)
From Manchester Aiport, get the Blackpool North train to Horwich Parkway and you're 'home'

Hope I can get cheap flights.
Re: Trip to a match
Pretty much as you say;flight to manchester then onwards to bolton.
The train station for the ground is called Horwich Parkway, and I believe trains from Manc Piccadilly run to there...

Re: Trip to a match
Manchester Airport has its own Rail Station, and on Saturdays there is one train an hour which runs direct from there to Horwich Parkway.
It takes about 45 minutes, and is about £3.50 for a return ticket.
I know that is probably double what you have paid for your flight, but its not really too expensive.

Re: Trip to a match
Hi again lads. I thought I would use this thread for some more questions instead of starting a new one.
I am heading over to see Bolton v Sunderland on the 7th of May.
I was just wondering:
Will it be difficult to get a ticket on the day?
Where is the best Stand to sit in?(view, atmosphere wise)
Where is good for a few pints around near the ground?
Any other additional information is also much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Trip to a match
It isn't normally a problem to get a ticket on the day.
You will probably get plenty of "for and against" for any part of the ground. West is probably quietest, East is probably noisiest, North has drummers...
Right next to the ground are two boozers that lots of Wanderers fans pop into on the way to the match - the Threshers and Scotts..

Do you need a credit card to book tickets over the phone as I don't currently own one.
