Did anyone else know that Gavin McCann had retired?

I think I read somewhere that no English side had ever beaten Red Star in Belgrade in Europe.

So I think that makes him the only scorer on a winning English side against Red Star away in Europe?

Ahh the Boro goal

Good bloke Gavin McCann, deserved more luck than he got at our place thats for sure. Sort of a focus of hate for a man who didn't sign him...

The short answer would be don't play a decent but limited defensive midfielder on the wing. And other such Megson related stories.

And as a footnote, I know theres a thread on here where many (myself included) are pushing for him to be the natural replacement for an ageing Campo.

But I'll reiterate, don't play him on the bloody wing you moron. Not you, obviously, him.

It's the truth, as I reminded all the Man U fans at work for a whole week when we did. :)

Oh aye yeah, he was shafted by Megson totally.

The Boro goal though, as important as Jay JAys free kick, or Frandsens etc.

Served us well, especially his first season when we could so easily have been relegated. Certainly wasn't ever going to help us go any further forward but did help us stay up.

... that may depend on whether he's on Twitter !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Met him a few times, wasn't that impressed with him - refused to have his picture taken with my nephew, said he was 'too busy' as he walked his dog through Lytham.

Hmm

Where was your nephew at the time?
