We haven't got a great record against the Villans, but this is is the Coyle revolution, and we claimed a point at their place earlier in the season. We should expect a point, IMHO, as a bare minimum, but I reckon 3 points is very feasible. I'll stick my neck on the line and say 2-0 Whites, Sturridge and a late Klasnic goal.

Edging towards not being particularly arsed as long as we don't get anyone sent off or injured.

Is there anyone a yellow card away from a ban?

Would like to see Steinson get some game time so we can get Robbo back at left back where he will actually be effective!

Happy enough with a point.

We won't win if we play like we did against Newcastle.

I can't go. Off to Perpignan to watch the rugby league instead. Have asked the club to postpone it until I get back but not sure they will. If it does go ahead, money is on a 2-1 either way. Classic fence sitting.

Would be nice to win this one and jump into sixth place and then see Liverpool beaten by Manure so we stay there.

I think we will beat them 3 - 1 ... Young with his usual goal for them and Strurridge with a couple for us and a late goal from Cahill :)

2-0 win. We're great, they're not.

Not so sure how great we are, but they certainly aren't.

Could be that I had my rose-tinters on when I wrote that, but I stand by my comment without them on as well

Bent has a knack of scoring against us and they have good pace on the wings with Downing and Young.
Our best option is probably down the middle where Petrov and Reo-Coker/Pires haven't exactly got explosive pace and Pires
might not want to get stuck in, so if we can dominate the midfield with Mavies and Holden then we have a decent chance of getting all 3 points. Maybe even play 3 against there 2 centre mid's either by dropping Davies/Elmander and playing Muamba or by playing Elmander from a deeper position with Sturridge up front on his own.

2-1 (2x Sturridge and Bent)

I've never quite understood this Petrov has been shit theory. His pace and forward movement down the left changed the way we played against Newcastle. Or should I say it was highlighted when Taylor came on. Sturridge broke free with a couple of minutes left on the clock, and even when the camera panned back to include the halfway line, there was no-one to be seen supporting down the left.

Cue Matt Taylor's appearance about seven minutes after the final whistle with a "hang on a minute lads, I'm a bit out of puff" expression on his face.

Same goes for the Elmander tackles more on the right argument. Lee is better on that right hand side for so many reasons.

Maybe we should drop Davies.

I did not say petrov is shit.

however - when he arrived I hoped he would have a much bigger impact on the team and would bang in the occasional trademark screamer from the edge of the box.

he's not shit - but he hasn't yet lived up to my (perhaps unrealistic) expectations - and I am expressing the hope that this game will be the springboard for all my lofty expectations to be realised...
