No time to make crap puns - Bolton v Newcastle, 26 Dec

Post by Verbal » Wed Dec 21, 2011 12:35 am

A tough fixture against tougher opposition. I'm bloody nervous. Granted they may have scored fewer away than, say, Blackburn, but they've conceded a damn sight fewer too.

Not looking forward to Demba Ba coming up against our back line, and Coloccini and Tiote possibly returning too. Though I guess we will learn more from them (and if they will still be in their poor run of form) when they face West Brom at home tomorrow.

I'm going to go for a nervy 1-1. Of course, this is lunacy.

I'm going to be there (ta s_t!), hungover and will probably be wearing a new jumper. You?

Newcastle fan at work reckons we'll do 'em.

I just don't want to lose after tonight. A win would be fantastic but I think I'd settle for a stable, decent performance and a draw.

Wolves is the must win. 7 points out of a possible 9 will do me.

I reckon we will win our next 2 games. Home advantage, confidence higher. As Coyle said after the game, football can change very quickly after results like that.

I seem to remember going to see Newcastle at our gaff and we won 4-3 on boxing day in the days of shearer.. Am I right or have I lost my mind? Few early goals aswell.

This will be less eventful with a goal either way winning it I think.. Let's keep the momentum :)

When Gardner scored? I remember a 4 -3 like that.

We're playing catch up.

Its must win given our points tally and likely capitation in Jan. Go for the jugular and get some momentum going.

Same team hopefully though Alonso no doubt injured. Still wouldnt drop petrov who was excellent last night...we'll just have to hope that left side is ok!

I missed that 4-3 because I thought it was a 3pm k.o.

Pottering around my mums in the morning. Eating bacon butties and generally strolling around like I owned the place I turned up at the pub about one-ish to find it deserted and the match in full swing.

Silly me.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

We'll win this, then beat Wolves, then sell out our allocation for Everton on this wave of euphoria - so its a good job I already got my ticket for that. Lose these games, and Ill be sat on my own (Well, as far away as I can from that old chap who just sings Wanderers songs to himself all game anyway)

I remember being 3-1 up at half time and telling my dad we needed another to be sure. Then ten minutes from time, after they got back to 4-3, Jay Jay giving us a mastreclass in keeping the ball in the corner.

Missing this one. Going to London for Christmas. Since I've only seen us lose this season this may be no bad thing.

I got to the match with 10 minutes played and it was 2-1 to us  thought it was an error on the score board.
