Please take a look at my website on football badges and have a look at how our badge has changed over our history.

Where did that elephant come from ?

No, don't agree AT. That was an occasion badge, purposely designed for a special event. 51 was an official club badge at the time.

Here we go with that. :spank:

I understand it was a badge for a special day, but it's the best looking badge, includes a lovely Lancashire rose prominently, and it would be nice to link to a bit of history. I find the 51 badge too bland in comparison. (Probably the American in me)

Truth be told, I wish we would just get a proper badge because the ribbon logo is awful on anything other than a t-shirt.

I'm with AT. The 58 badge looks best to me. Remove the FA Cup wording and replace with club motto.

Bolton was rife with elephants up until the late 70's and the animals were considered a pest by locals.

The last one was shot in the face on Crompton Lodges in 1983.

Isn't the elephant a sign of fidelity? The Castle's 'strength' (natch).

1951 badge has to come back, but only one a plain white shirt (I'll let you off with a blue v-neck if you insist) no swoosh, no stripes, no higgledy-piggedly.

Just plain.

It's called 'class'.

The current badge is shocking, it's like driving around in a Austin-Morris Princess.

C'mon Bolton it's Y2K12 here.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

The Elephant Seal was applied to bails of cotton thread produced in the town to signify its quality.

Elephants, smellipants.

They were originally where the lions sleep tonight at the top of the Town Hall steps, but their trunks got in the way of passing moonies and so were replaced. Originally by Emu's and later by sperm in the guise of balloons.

Now THAT is trivia.

58. On a fecking white shirt. I actually think the current one is better than the least one, but they're both shit.

The Elephant Seal ...:)
I once lost a talent contest to a seal which played Frere Jacques on the car horns.

True story.

Results of the survey indicate we must have elephants...

I like the 58 one best, but any of the previous badges are better than the current corporate bollocks.

58 one the best, but as stated earlier the shirt must be plain or with bands round neck.
I think the present one is better than the previous one.
