He did fine until he was found out by other defenders.

They're welcome to him... Hopefully he'll have the same impact there. ie; Feck all
Great news ... Wiggin will try to get something out of him ... and fail. PLUS their quest for CYL is sort of diminished by this 'swoop'.

Do you think he will be first choice? I don't.......
Then who?

SKD - Yes a legend, yes a hero, but really?
Sordell - Picked Ngog time and time again last season, 2 x 45 minute appearances for the England Olympic team won't have changed that?
Afobe - Young loanee

To be honest, I'm even more worried about the prospect of Coyle managing us next season if Ngog isn't number 1.

Jonathon Stead !!

Failed at about 5 clubs after his initial flourish.

That said even BFSA bottled buying Dean Ashton while at Crewe, & he did cut the mustard.

It's always a gamble but I dare say Rhodes can't be quite all that as no substantial club has bothered and Huddersfield don't seem too concerned about keeping him.

Ashton was out of our price range when we wanted him. Even at Crewe. They wanted more than we had.

The little I've seen of Afobe and Sordell pre-season I'd say as it stands they are both above NGog........

How would you see it?

I think we'd look best with Afobe and Sordell up top together (if we're playing 4-4-2, which I wouldn't always but....)

I suspect its KD with another, and I think it'll be Sordell as first go, then Afobe, then NGog.

so - let me get this straight - now you're advocating 4-4-2?? I thought you said nothing-but-4-5-1 would do else Coyle was a total cock??

Playing against less savvy defenders and in games where we'll have a bit more of the ball for a feckin' change, he'd be better up top than anybody else we have. Decent pace, excellent touch with his back to goal (better than any of the others by far) and actually wins headers (which Davo doesn't do anymore - not with out fouling somebody first).

If he learnt not to give a fvck about missing because we'll get other chances, then he'll be an absolutely fantastic player for us.

I'm saying that in this division there will be certain games where we may be ok playing 4-4-2 as the standard of the opposition will be lower. It will very much depend on who the "4" and specifically the "2 central midfielders" are....as it did last season. If we'd had a fit Holden and Muamba all season then we'd probably have gotten away with 4-4-2. But we didn't and he didn't adapt quickly enough.

Anyway, how are you going with the theory that we have no premiership quality players cos nobody in the premiership has bid for them???????????

nice try BWFCi!

but you know very well that my point was that that MOST of our squad are not (as you claimed) obviously a cut above the championship. I allowed that one or two of the players might be.

anyway - we have yet to see a serious bid, haven't we?

Well, Swansea have bid £4M for Mark Davies, an amount you were I believe urging the club to sell for just a few days ago.....

aye - but, important as I am (and - thanks for the credit you give me!) - the amount I might theoretically let him go for during a rant over how crap we were at Portsmouth is hardly the benchmark for a serious bid - is it??
