It might be a bit unfashionable but I seemed to recall us purring through this game on the opening day of the 2004 season.

For me nothing beat's the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich. Not just the game but the time before and after the game in the pubs etc.

Ricketts winner at Old Trafford. Our First European night against Plovdiv. The Carling cup run of 2003. Many a night's spent in the De Vere whites with my ex girlfriend during the Allardyce years.

Many more but I'm getting teary eyed.

The crossfield ball 1-2 was at the reebok. IIRC it looked like Youri was upset the first ball was behind him so tonked it back for JayJay to have another go in a 'thats how it should be done' way.

Tears in my eyes.
I was in the North stand just up and right from the nets. When he hit it, we all ducked because it looked like it was arrowing towards us at speed, only to hear everyone cheer as it changed course ridiculously and bulged the onion bag. I actually missed the goal.

I remember it, but remember it being the other way round?

I'd love to see that ITV programme that covered Big Sam and Dave Bassett's heart levels during that match. Big Sam was on absolute top form during that match, they literally couldn't have picked a better time.

At the time, Henrik was considered one of our poorer players.

Now we have to make do with Pratley....

That'll be coz he was fecking shite bless him! God loves a trier though.

As others have mentioned the Jay-Jay to Youri 50 yard one two was brilliant. The 4-0 Charlton opening day was ace. Demolishing Leeds and effectively sending them down was brilliant. The European games were ace. I think the Arsenal game when Faye was compared to Vieira was my fav. They couldn't handle us that night.

For me the 3 0 home win against united in 78. Equally good was the 2 1 away win with Frankie's dodgy penalty. I went with a carful of reds and they hardly spoke on the way home.Even the dad was blanking me and I was only 11! class tho

It was feckin great... Before the game Leicester fans were singing 'you're shit, and you're going down....

at half time we were singing 'We're shit... and we're 4-0 up...' :D :D :D
