More pushed out. Cost cutting coming into effect here given our circumstances.

Really didn't get that from the statement.

I don't know how old Duckworth is but he must be getting on. Perhaps after 14 years it really is time for a change/ fresh blood/ new ideas. And you don't ditch your chief executive as a cost sutting measure do you?

Or am I just naive?

Saving of over half a million plus bonuses every year. We can afford it anymore.

Can't really be age or he wouldn't be looking at "new challenges". Trigger's brush must have finally given up the ghost and a new one arrived.

Sorry TD. I meant change for the club. I expect his successor will be announced shortly. Just hope it's not someone from Burnley's board.

Duckworth was brought in to help improve the clubs financial position, bring in investment and secure sponsorship/corporate deals.

I suspect on the whole his work was done and there probably wasn't a massive challenge left for him.

Perhaps he wanted a challenge or perhaps he wasn't viewed as a valuable asset by the club anymore?

I wonder if we will replace him......

We'll replace him... nowadays even non-league have CEO's... if he's leaving now then the club have probably known about this for at least 12 months... if this is just the start of his leaving progress then expect to see him at the club for another 12 months so not exactly cost saving if we go straightback up....

Duckworth will be off for an easy life as a non-exec at a guess

Off topic like, and good luck in the future to Duckhead and everything but..
"However, as the club begins a new chapter in its history, with Owen setting out the foundations of his plan for the long-term, it feels right for a change, for both myself and for the club.
Any chance someone could let the fans know what these long term plans are?

They seemed to be often quoted last season, along the lines of "The Chairman knows what we're trying to do here." Hopefully, this season, someone will communicate it to the Manager.

That's a sad thing, it means eventually we are always going to sell our best players and have difficulty the following season

Be fair, Zulu: it's far from the gobsmackingest thing he's come out with. It's also one simple comment, on the topic in hand, on the right thread, in the right forum. Let's work on form before we turn to content...

I'll take it that's a "no" then? (unless you're claiming Eddie is brainless and makes up the entirety of the rest of the board?)
