Well that didn't work out did it !!

Tried to copy these but not sure how to go about it. Full list of players from the photo for anyone who is unsure who is who.
This picture has always bothered me. Why did it ever see the light of day? No one is looking at the camera even though it's clearly posed for. It's not as if it's a candid snap taken between poses, catching the players in a moment of relaxation before the phalanx of snappers (BEN, MEN and..err that would have been it) re-load and start click click clicking awy.
It's posed for. It's been taken and instead of being left on the dark room floor it's been printed.
Right boys, after three I want you all to look in different directions but basically if you can smile at someone over there that would be great.
I think it must have been the last shot on the roll.
'....a couple we met, that's me with the couple we met, that's my husband with the couple we met, that's us with the husband of the couple we met, that's us with the wife of the couple we met, that's one of the cat and that's this year's Bolton squad.'
I bet it came with a 'warning' sticker on it.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Him that nicked Bobo's bird's looking at the camera alright. In fact, he's sporting that look that purposely says "Bobo, I'm shagging your Doris",
Paul Jones is definitely in on it, and I reckon that Tony Dunne's having a decent smirk about it too.

Apologies if on here previously: The 1958 FA Cup squad: I don't recognise many but I'd sure some will.

Re: Trotters pics
Had to have another play of this. I've had many sweet moments in football, but nothing quite like beating Manchester United in the F.A.Cup final.

I don't recognize as many as I thought I might.clapton is god wrote:Apologies if on here previously: The 1958 FA Cup squad: I don't recognise many but I'd sure some will.
In the back row there is Eddie Hopkinson. The tall one with the black hair is, I think, Gubbins. Standing to the left of Eddie must be Tommy Banks (but I thought he was taller).
In the front row left to right is Ridding, Someone, Holden, Stevens, Nat, Parry, Someone Else and the Chopper.
An I right so far, Tango? I'm a bit unsure.

Ralph Gubbins is the one to the left of Roy Hartle.Montreal Wanderer wrote:I don't recognize as many as I thought I might.clapton is god wrote:Apologies if on here previously: The 1958 FA Cup squad: I don't recognise many but I'd sure some will.

Re: Trotters pics
I don't think Ball played in the 1958 final, though he did in 1953. That chap looks more like Adolf Hitler after shaving the moustache. Hang on though, there are 15 players in the photo so will include some who did not play in the final.TANGODANCER wrote:Johnny Ball? Tommy Banks, Hoppy, Hennin, Edwards, Higgins

My dad says it can't be the '58 squad as Johnny Ball and Eric Bell had retired by then, but both played in '53.clapton is god wrote:Apologies if on here previously: The 1958 FA Cup squad: I don't recognise many but I'd sure some will.
If anyone is interested, I can get him to do the full line up?

I'll ask him. Bearing in mind he said he got his magnifying glass out to the photo when I emailed it, don't expect rapid results...

It's the widest side parting I've ever seen. If it went any further down he'd be combing his armpit.Bruce Rioja wrote:It's Adolf Hitler, Silly! That's why we're touring Austria. Don't you know anything?Harry Genshaw wrote:Who's the guy on the back row with the Hitler side parting?
