Worthy's better class of transfer thread

Post by Worthy4England » Thu Sep 06, 2012 9:34 am

We had a thread,
And signed some dross,
It's time for new,
Said Mr Hoss.

We need some players,
To add some class,
Put 'em here,
If they can pass.

If they can head,
And tackle too,
Worthy's thread's
The place for you.

May I take this opportunity to ask where we are with Veloso ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

So we begin an all new thread,
Chances of loans,
Lots of moans,
"He'll never come here," likely said.

Chelsea owe us someone to share,
A player to keep it in midfield,
Help the defence as a protective shield,
Oriel Romeu? Not a prayer.

What about at the back?
Ream looks lightweight,
Mills' talent up for debate,
Keep it tight Owen or else it's the sack.

N’gog provides no goals up front,
Afobe’s a kid, Sordell’s got skills -
An Olympic footballer! But not Brazil’s.
We love Davo, but to him we just punt.

I can think of nice rhyme for the last line....

The class struggle continues.
"Young people, nowadays, imagine money is everything."

"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."

That shire horse has bolted.

Was it Viv Richards who once said "The horse was shot after the door was bolted"? Anyway, that.

First, stick this on in the background: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFTLKWw542g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Tony Kelly, Super John, White Hot, Rioch gone,
Alan Thompson, McAnespie, Roy McFarland,
Alan Stubbs, Colin Todd, Richard Sneekes, Fab De God
Per Frandsen, Mike Johansen, Gudni Bergsson,
Scott Sellars, Nolan, Mark Fish, Claus Jensen
Riccy G, Paul Warhurst, open goal Dean Holdsworth,
Jaaskelainen, Mark Fish, we've got Michael Ricketts,
Mike Whitlow, Nathan Blake and fecking Nicky Hunt

Phil's got a fax in his pocket
The fans are pining
For our next big signing
Phil's got a fax in his pocket
Agents deceive him
But we try to believe him

Pedersen, Didi Hamann, Jay Jay, Gav McCann,
N'Gotty, Farrelly, we all love Big Sam,
Kevin Davies, Campo, Gary Speed, Rivaldo,
Stelios Giannakopoulos, great time to be a fan,
Ben Haim, El Hadj Diouf, home games raise the roof
Matty Taylor, Muamba, Gary Cahill, Elmander
Mark Davies, Big Zat, Tyrone Mears, D-Pratz,
Holden's crocked, Reebok shocked, Owen Coyle is useless

Phil's got a fax in his pocket
The fans are pining
For our next big signing
Phil's got a fax in his pocket
Agents deceive him
But we try to believe him

Our new striker will be channelling the spirit of Hirst then.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

We're still in the same division as when it started - which is more than you can say for the last one.:-)

Would be a fantastic loan signing but have a feeling it is a recycled article from weeks ago :(

No .... & I'm just back from my turn on the Steps. The Lions say "hello".

But St.Owen shut the door on any thoughts of NRC rejoining last week. Tosspot that he is.
