Yep, but he has more chance of winning headers or at least putting someone off theirs than Spearing.

Re: REAM...............? Why?
Cos spearing is as Bruce describes him 'an angry wasp midfield player'. We were hanging on and Cardiff went long. Spearing wouldn't have provided any sort of aerial shield for the centre halves whereas Ream might.thebish wrote:how so?BWFC_Insane wrote:

I don't think you have to be tall to put a player off heading a ball... all things considered, I'd have rather seen Spearing put out to do that job - being as that actually IS his job... but - all's well that ends well!!
had Coyle done that - then my guess is we'd have been screaming for his neck....

Look, I know I don't rate the guy one iota, but did Ream actually touch the ball when he came on? I was worried about him getting in Zat Knight's way to be honest.

Re: REAM...............? Why?
Coyle would have more than likely taken any defensive minded midfield players we had on the pitch off at 1-0 gone two up front with a weak as water midfield and we'd have lost 2-0 as they walked through our non existent midfield.thebish wrote:did Ream provide any aerial cover for the centre halves?BWFC_Insane wrote:Cos spearing is as Bruce describes him 'an angry wasp midfield player'. So your point is somewhat moot.

so you say... but DID Ream touch the ball with his head at all??? did he provide aerial cover for the centre halves?BWFC_Insane wrote:Coyle would have more than likely taken any defensive minded midfield players we had on the pitch off at 1-0 gone two up front with a weak as water midfield and we'd have lost 2-0 as they walked through our non existent midfield.thebish wrote:did Ream provide any aerial cover for the centre halves?BWFC_Insane wrote:Cos spearing is as Bruce describes him 'an angry wasp midfield player'. Re: REAM...............? Why?
I seem to remember a header out from the edge of the 6 yard box, unpressured.Think it's was ream as it involved a rather extravagant dive onto the floor.Sure he's better in the air than spearing but Terry Butcher he aint.

Re: REAM...............? Why?
Well, I saw him the other week walking into Asda in A/B with his (very pretty) Mrs, and he's definitely a good couple of inches shorter than me. So, if height is the optimum requirement here then I'm getting a game ahead of Ream, and by rights, I should get to scuttle his Doris an' all.

Go & 'friend' her.
She likes Nando's I understand.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

And I guess on the response "I don't know, what's the difference between a penis and a Nando's drumstick?"
You say - "Here's a Nando's drumstick then"

Re: REAM...............? Why?
Saw this article about Ream, a few interesting things in there.
Do you think he will start at D-mid next game?

Re: REAM...............? Why?
Not particularly. He played there against Brighton and they ran rings round us. DF said he'd slipped up asking the players to play in postitions they werent comfortable in (or something along those lines) Ream has played there a couple of times now but Im not sure he's been that effective.jjd95 wrote:Saw this article about Ream, a few interesting things in there.

Re: REAM...............? Why?
Not so sure. Would anyone pay for him? I expect he d head back to the states but unless he had a very good rep out there we wont get much of the cash back. If warnock goes he could still end up at LB. Alonso hasnt figured at all since DF came in but I wonder how much that is down to fitness,Alonso tends to look a bit heavy to me and I suspect unless he works very hard on fitness he wont be getting in the squad.officer_dibble wrote:I think he'll be bombed out in jan. Re: REAM...............? Why?
Anyone who says Ream can head a ball needs their head seeing to.
He's hopeless in the air.
He was bought to replace the Pace and tackling of Cahill. Sadly he is only quick.
