Sussex by the sea!

Post by Prufrock » Thu Nov 15, 2012 12:36 am

I've never done one of these before. It might be a bit early, but not for tickets and the like, so balls to it.

Who is going? Verbs and I are there. I'm sure Crayons said his sister is living down there and so he is going. CAPS is bringing the boys from what I can gather? Maybe thebish will be back for a tour of his former domain and bring the (by all acounts) lovely GG. London based Whites DSB, Dartisan and the-poster-who-must-now-be-known as Dougie'sEleven? DIPS? Any more?

I'm excited. I have a mate who is a Bolton fan, on whose account I made my one and only trip to Millwall no less. He doesn't know if he is going yet, but recommends Lewes rather than Brighton as the place to drink before catching the train to Falmer. More pubs and fewer people on the train, he says.

Any goers? Any predictions?

They don't like Palace, so I imagine Dougie won't be too popular!

i had earmarked this one was gonna take the fam, get a room down there on the saturday and they could stay with me in London on Friday and Sunday. my brothers going too as its his birthday weekend, and my mate has planned work meetings down there on the friday so he can stay over for the game. would have been well cushty. Alas, mavis cant get Saturday off work and its a little known fact that her work will crumble causing the world to end if she was ever to pull a sicky!.. i cant go alone as it would mean not seeing the little'un for two weeks. so i am out. flatdicks eh?

doing Peterborough instead.

CAPS is most definitely taking the boys...oh yes

Not Lewes though, you can't do Brighton and not 'do' Brighton, surely

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

P'boro I'll definitely be at. Highly unlikely on the other two.

0525 out of Manc is still 36.70 return to London....

Extremely uncivilised times, admittedly and approx 20 quid more to Brighton!

We paid about 50 weeks and weeks and weeks ago

I shall be there. Three long term mates and our wives/partners.

Doing the weekend. Renting a six seater motor, hotel booked, going Friday morn, back Sunday, with three points and - possibly - a hangover well earned...

Tickets bought. :D

Lewes is a good shout fellas. 42 licensed premises & it is a lovely town with good beer (Harveys is actually brewed there).
Falmer station (2 min walk to AMEX) is 5-10 mins on the train from Lewes & they run about every 7 mins.
I think that the train fare is included in the match ticket price although i have never seen anyone check a ticket anyway.

Is Gooner Girl going to provide you all with tea & biscuits? She olny lives up the road.
I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours but i think that God's got a sick sense of humour and when i die i expect to find him laughing

If we're coming from Victoria, how does the Lewes plan work

Also, post match...were thinking we'd probably bus/taxi it

Need to be back to leave Brighton at 6.20
