Re: Designated Penalty Taker?
have you answered that question yet?thebish wrote:Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Can I just point out that in the very first post on this subject I had this to say "Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he [Andrews] did [take the penalty], because at least he scored it."
The entire point of the post was one of debate as to why it is that strikers quite often do not take penalties, when IMHO it might (might - that's the point of the debate) be better for their goal scoring confidence if they did.
So, for all you out there that are not quite getting this:
I AM NOT ADVOCATING THAT ANDREWS STOP TAKING THE FECKIN PENALTIES. Ok. I WAS JUST WONDERING WHY SO FEW FECKIN STRIKERS HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO TAKE THEM.
here's a bit of advice...
don't bother
there are folk on here are are just plainly too dense to see anything so subtle.
that's all.

Straw-clutching. He played left-back occasionally, but he "was" a right-back.jaffka wrote:He was a left back at Bolton.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Urgent message from the fact-checking deskNeal was a right-backjaffka wrote:Phil Neal (a left back) was deadly from the spot

Should have been left back in the changing rooms.

Do you really want to argue that Phil Neal was more of a left-back than a right-back?jaffka wrote:Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Straw-clutching. Wonder who'll take their penalty tonight? Almost nailed on they'll get one with a hundred thousand Makems screaming every time they get near our box.
