If Coyle had been given this job when Appleton left it'd have been ironic (& not in the Alanis Morissette way).
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

One game left, three points on offer, seventy points achievable.
I still don't see what the problem is.
Who'd a thought it!!

Re: Blackpool ... Donkeys or Towering ?
I'm hoping tht each and every Blackpool player has a head already on the beach and a Mrs that's told them "Whatever you do, don't get injured" as they walk out the door on Saturday morning.
Right, now for the real question. If we make it, who do we want to play in the play off semi's and final, and who would we want to avoid??

I'm a big believer in one step at a time and don't count any chickens.Bijou Bob wrote:I'm hoping tht each and every Blackpool player has a head already on the beach and a Mrs that's told them "Whatever you do, don't get injured" as they walk out the door on Saturday morning.

We still have it all to do to get there. Right now couldn't give a flying feck who we play, so long as we make it.
Massive game next week.

2 draws and we could make the playoffs with 68 points. Whatever happens it can't be more than 70. Always said it would be a low one this year with how many wins the bottom 8 have had. could look up the post where I said it but that would make me a smug nice person.

Would this be the tenth win on the bounce at home if we win?

Re: Blackpool ... Donkeys or Towering ?
I don't think Forest will go into their game looking for a 4-0 win. Their best hopes are of us dropping points, so they will just focus on the three points in case we slip up, rather than looking to dominate Leicester. If they do try that, they will be leaving themselves open for counters and possibly dropping points themselves.
Every team will just be focused on three points. It's all we all have control over. We could win and still miss out but that's unlikely, so our mindset should never a simple 'three points = play offs' rather than overcomplicating the issue by worrying about numerical possibilities with goal difference.

It would be the ninth in a row, which, if we could pull it off would be a massive feat.
Burnley, Hull, Peterbrough, Blackburn, Brighton, Huddersfield, Wolves, Middlesbrough.

Leicester have roughly the same chance of making the play offs as Forest do.SmokinFrazier wrote:I don't think Forest will go into their game looking for a 4-0 win. In both cases the winner of the Forest Leicester game are in if we don't win.

Not too smug I hope.LeverEnd wrote:I agree that we won't make the playoffs, but think that 75 won't be needed this season when you look at how many the bottom 5 teams have got. Lots of teams beating each other outside the top 5.
I we could put a winning consistent run together we could do it but we won't because we still have far too many deficiencies, as shown up by two poor teams in derby and P'boro.

Re: Blackpool ... Donkeys or Towering ?
Still can't believe given where we were at Christmas that we have the chance to win against Blackpool to guarantee a play off place. Whatever happens a truly magnificent turn around to even have this opportunity.

I do have this awful foreboding that at 85 mins our game & the Leicester/Forest match will both be evenly poised at 0-0. Then someone will score a goal..
