Strix Group would be good

II suspect Eddie thinks he's put enough in !!NP44 wrote:Strix Group would be good
Plus, as a marketing tool it's pointless. He already has about 80% of the western market for his products and you and I aren't ever going to go and buy some Strix are we ?
It would improve visibility ... and, I assume, would be a sound tax write-off ... if he pays any. It would be considerably more classy than "QuickQuid" .... which is itself a better word than Wonga I suppose. That really sets my teeth on edge.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It does stick in the throat though when they're only paying us one fifth of Sam Ricketts' wages.BWFC_Insane wrote:Whilst I share the feeling that in an ideal world a loan company is not what I would want sponsoring the football team I support, we are sadly in a far from ideal world. I doubt Bolton Wanderers are in a position to turn down the best offer on a point of principle.
And let's face it, how many 'ethical' companies are likely to be interested in shirt sponsorship.
Did people complain about Reebok and their horrific use of sweatshops when they were our shirt sponsors?
In the grand scheme of things, that sponsorship money is worth the best part of feck all financially.

Exactly...Would it not be better having a charity splashed on the shirt.boltonboris wrote:It does stick in the throat though when they're only paying us one fifth of Sam Ricketts' wages.BWFC_Insane wrote:Whilst I share the feeling that in an ideal world a loan company is not what I would want sponsoring the football team I support, we are sadly in a far from ideal world. As General Mannerheim has said numerous times, if I had the money, I'd give them whatever they were offering and just tell them to either leave it blank or put a charity's logo on there.
But knowing Bolton, they'd take the money and still get Quick Quid on board

We don't know how much the deal is worth (I know what was reported but still...) and what sort of other offshoots there are from it and what they could potentially be worth.boltonboris wrote:As General Mannerheim has said numerous times, if I had the money, I'd give them whatever they were offering and just tell them to either leave it blank or put a charity's logo on there.

I suspect Eddie Davies, having pumped £100M in, isn't in the mood to see half a mill or a million just slide on by out of principle.
It'd be nice if he was like. But given what he's put in, I think it's very very harsh to label the club as "chasing the £" or whatever.

Re: Club Rebranding
£200k per year for 2 years. I know 2 people who both work for local companies who were approached and this was the rate.
One of them was Shearings who are based out of Wigan, so weren't interested and the other was some IT company (name escaped me) who don't sell to the public, so didn't see the point

Re: Club Rebranding
Kids of Bolton would have been a nice one to have emblazened. SKD could've changed the logo to read 'F UCK YOU DOUGIE'
Re: Club Rebranding
Don't know how they will arrange it but it may be something like this. Better than the blob, no?

Surly we won't miss the blob!?
Re: Club Rebranding
A blessing is that it's a wide logo so doesn't take up that much shirt estate
(when compared to the big orange blob)

Re: Club Rebranding
Just the QQ at that size would be ok, wouldn't it?

Re: Club Rebranding
Back to Colin's departure.
When I was a little lad (when Leverhulme Park was a plant pot) the team used to jog out to this catchy little number. This version too, I do believe.

Now, that's what I call a re-branding!

Looks like 2 fecking snails on that logo. Are they trying to say summat about our defence?Vertigo wrote:On second thoughts, it may well look like this:

As a piece of design it's far better ... it's just the subject matter.Vertigo wrote:

Plus, if the suggestion earlier is to be believed .... & no reason to think it's not .... for £200k is it worth it ??
