Either way, they'll still be trying to offload them at a Tenner a time this time next year.
May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: Club Rebranding
Why is Quick Quid so bad? I don't see what the big deal is.
Re: Club Rebranding
Apparently the new shirts are only a tenner each from day one, payable in ten instalments of £7.20

To be fair to them, their rates are barely half of the really big ones !!!throwawayboltonian wrote:They're borderline legal loan sharks who prey on people in unfortunate circumstances and need a quick "short term" loan for whatever needs, then they demand ridiculous amounts in return due to obscenely high interest rates. Seriously if they are our sponsors I'd consider doing the only thing us Brits can do in a situation like this, and write a strongly worded open letter.Vertigo wrote:Why is Quick Quid so bad? Borrow £200 for 28 days.
The total charge for credit is £50.
Interest is fixed at a rate of £50 per £200 loan (326% per annum).
The Total Repayable is £250.
Representative 1734% APR.
Before anyone leaps at this great offer give me a call, I'm sure I can better that !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

for any lenth of time ?
unsecured too ?
a bank might let you to borrow a grand minimum for 12months at about 12-15+% (at a guess , its like a state secret nowadays) , if you can prove youve had money coming in regularly for about 7 years.
at least these short term loans places tell you whats what on their websites.
banks dont like lending money out.

Re: Club Rebranding
i'm just saying it's like a different market. possibly one more likely to actually lend you money should you be in need of it.
the moral thing peeps seem upset by , i dont see.
folk were less arsed about reebok's shadey stuff.
but all we got were "oh no! the reebok might change it's name!" when 188bet rocked up.

Re: Club Rebranding
Thanks for the explanation, I had kinda figured it was something like that, but thought perhaps there was a particular incident.
I still don't see a huge problem. I'm sure there are people who have dug themselves a hole by taking out multiple loans, but I'm also sure there have people who have been saved by the loans.

Re: Club Rebranding
Not sure how "different" the approach can be. Basically it's still play records, read out teamsheets and dedications, encourage crowd to make noise.bobo the clown wrote:However, these words were in the BeN a couple of days ago and just seem curious ;

"Embrace a different approach" is the employment equivalent of "it's not you, it's me. But either way, f**k off".

Maybe they'll start playing Here We Go Again and My World Is A Football. Who knows, maybe we'll even have Big Darren dancing to The Floral Dance behind the goal.

Quick Quid... my objections to them as sponsors lies mainly in the name. They sound so cheap, so infra dig. I mean where do they think we shop... Iceland?

Exactly, forget all the moral posturing. Really we'd welcome a specialist land mine company as long as it sounded classy.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Quick Quid... my objections to them as sponsors lies mainly in the name. They sound so cheap, so infra dig. I mean where do they think we shop... Iceland?
