The Taming of the Shrews? Capital One Cup 6/8

Post by mrkint » Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:09 am

There's a game tomorrow if you haven't noticed!

Away at Shrewsbury. Anyone going? These chaps drew with MK Dons 0-0 in their opening game in League One.

Who would you give a chance? Who would you give more game time?

Thinking of going to this one. £7 for students and £15 for adults is a decent price. How far away is Shrewsbury by the way

If going from Bolton, m56 towards Chester, then down the A road that follows the Welsh borders (A38 is it?). About right with the timing Verbal (I don't like change).
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Alternatively you can get a direct train from Piccadilly however there is only 1 train back you would be bale to make after the game however it is not till 10:15 so you will have more than enough time to get back to the station unless it goes to extra time (does that happen in the capital 1 cup or does it go to replay)

M56 > A49 isn't a bad route.

A483, past my house, then take a left onto the A5 at Oswestry.
Hope is what keeps us going.

Dunno what you're all on about, it's barely 25 miles. Yep ... going if commitments permit.

After you passed Hopeful House you'll go pass Bobo Towers.

I'm assuming I can pay on the door. (checked, and we can)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Remind me, is the Capital One Cup what used to be the League Cup then Milk Cup then Someotherfeckin Cup, or is it some other altogether more outlandish trophy?

Excellent. We should go all out to win it then. A proper trophy.

Then dates of the upcoming draws and the rounds. Not taking anything for granted but it is good that they have actually released the date of the draws in advance for once.

A bit risky the new ground is a way out of town.

On paper that's a good route. but it involves the inevitable hold ups passing Knutsford and the obligatory crash at Stoke and the stoppages at Stafford.

I'd us the A49 if you want the country route ... or pass Chester >> Wrexham >> Oswestry >> Shrewsbury for the easier route.

I will go the back route via Overton >> Ellesmere >> Cockshutt (just so I can drive through a village called Cocksutt tbh ... and the magnificently named "Leaking Tap" pub).

Anyhow couldn't care less about this result. Play the kids, go out, focus on what we need to do for me.

Not going to be popular on here, but an irrelevance as far as I'm concerned.

Guess Dougie will use it to get some extra match sharpness into some players.

Long as we avoid any sending offs and injuries not that arsed.

Surely we should be using it as a chance to keep working on combinations? Give the back 5 more game time together, give Beckford more time upfront, and see who we have left who's fit for anywhere else.
