Rumoured to be. Though I'm unconvinced that was ever true.

Back on topic.

How good is it to have a player that really loves the club and want to sign here? He could of sat on his arse at Liverpool on a decent wage and run his contract down. Even better that he told a rival to feck off in Blackburn.

Top lad is Jay 8)

Ran into a Whites supporter this afternoon and got told about Spearing. Top news and the lad wants to be here, always a plus. Some nice handling of all the move stuff by Dougie. A good midfield takes some pressure off defence and ours is now looking good. Bit of rotation likely to happen now I think.

Fergie used this for probably 20 years. Walk into the youth team changing rooms at the Cliff / Carrington and say to Styles and Kidd and whoever else afterwards; "what do you think of such and such a player" and say a different one in from of each set of players. If it got to press, he knew where it'd come from and probably after a few looks into people's eyes, exactly who

Great news this and according to the Bolton News, Spearing has taken a drop in wages to facilitate the deal.
Pfffft.

Not only did he turn down Blackburn, not only is he taking a cut in wages but he also turned down a couple of prem clubs... so he really wanted to sign for Bolton. Either he really likes the town or Dougie is doing something right!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Perhaps Nixon is close to someone else who's heavily involved in negotiations, and can't keep shtum.

...and this. He's ticked a fair few boxes there. Let's hope he helps keep the bad guys away from our porous centre-backs...

It's so refreshing to see a four-page thread where every post is really happy with the signing.

I think there's no doubt that he's going to be a top player for us and if he'd signed sooner I'm sure he would have been a main contender for the captaincy.

Can only echo the thoughts of others, if only we could get Craig Dawson back (which I just can't see happening) then in my opinion we're odds on for promotion.

If promotion us wirth £60m then £3m in Dawson, who would remain a salable asset would be worth every penny.

Norpig wrote:Very good news hopefully this will give a bit of confidence to the defence and also may help Medo who looked to be confused where he should be mainly because he was covering for Andrews mistakes for most of the Burnley game.

I am hoping this spells the end of Andrews who IMHO has never convinced me from day one in fact he seems to have got worse over time.
I think most of Medo's confusion was Andres related.... 'WTF is this bloke doing on here? and why does he inexplicably seem never to pass to someone in the same shirt? '

With all due respect here bobo, but you're heading down the Leeds United "if we just spend a bit of next years money" route. Sure, its a piss in the wind if we're promoted. And I'm sure his wages will be a breeze. And I wish it were that simple. I suspect we'll be waiting on what Uncle Eddie thinks...once again.

Dawson likely to sign today (Friday), kind of ITK inside info. Let's hope it's true

Please don't get Bobo's hopes up, he's not a young man any more.
