Re: Freedman out!
And Coyle was sacked. You missed that bit.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I'd expect Freedman to be when he has us 20 places below the one he started in

This season's target becomes a little clearer when you put it like that.

You see what it boils down to is that whoever the manager is and who is in the team, I want them to do well and win.
That's not happening though. At this moment in time I think that he is a bad appointment.

Re: Freedman out!
The original quote was "you will be playing the next six games at 90 minutes". I've never heard someone say "at 90 minutes" before, so I'm not sure what it means but given the context, I'm guessing he means that they'll play 90 minutes for the next six games but yeah, I might be wrong with thatBruce Rioja wrote:Might that not be construed as simply "I tell my strikers that they'll get a game over the next six games"? You seem to think that he's promising his strikers 6 x 90 minutes, I'm not sure he is.SmokinFrazier wrote:"I tell my strikers they will play 90 minutes over the next 6 games".

Ah. Hadn't seen that - just went off of your post, in which you'd used quote marks.SmokinFrazier wrote: The original quote was "you will be playing the next six games at 90 minutes"

For me, the problem comes when folk try to justify their position using 'facts'
None of us know the full picture
Nobody knows what Freedman was told was expected of him when he came - I'm pretty sure most at the club were reasonably happy with last years finishing position especially as we were in free fall when he arrived
Nobody knows what expectations/hopes were pre season, though we do know cutting the deficit was on the agenda and I'd think getting into the play offs
We have to accept we can be disappointed and unhappy while at the same time the owner/board aren't

Re: Freedman out!
I thought it was established fact that he was sorting out "the backroom stuff"?
Are you saying that's also mere speculation?

Or perhaps more accurately "factoids", in their original Norman Mailer sense updated for the modern publishing world which allows anyone with a keyboard an apparently equal say...CAPSLOCK wrote:For me, the problem comes when folk try to justify their position using 'facts'

IS the board officially happy with the quality of willy waving though?

Wait a minute. I thought you and your mate on the inside knew the facts and the dissenters were all idiots.CAPSLOCK wrote:See, I can't see owt that anybody can argue with therejaffka wrote:You see what it boils down to is that whoever the manager is and who is in the team, I want them to do well and win.

Re: Freedman out!
it'd be impossible to do some of the crazy shit coyle was rumoured to do..
he'd have to turn up to work in only his socks to be worse.
and maybe if he has a bag with 'SWAG' on it as he leaves for home.

Re: Freedman out!
I feel so jaded, I was desperate for coyle to go but don't really care about dougie, to be honest with you. He's no different than coyle to me, got lucky with a few signings and put a good run together but in the long term is just someone who played the game but doesn't seem to have a tactical grasp on it or an understanding of how to set out a long term strategy for a club. the signings he's made have been decent players but don't fit any kind of tactical idea. Medo and spearing are both great players at this level but whats the point in having both of them? why do we have so many central attacking midfielders? what was the point in Joe Mason?
We could blow a few million on getting rid of him and getting someone else in. Maybe someone boring and proven like warnock would be a decent bet but all I see is debt piling up until Eddie gets tired of what the club has become and pulls the plug. Maybe Gartside's time has come? the club has no sort of vision at the minute. Gates are low, money is being lost, things are going to get so much worse before they get better.

Re: Freedman out!
I'm looking forward to the excuses after Reading. What will it be? That the players are sh*t? That because we have debt, it stops Freedman from doing a good job?
Utterly clueless manager, who should have been sacked months ago. He's worse than Coyle, worse than Megson and I'd have more far faith in Sammy Lee. My only hope from this game is that Reading go on to put many more past us, which will hopefully guarantee Freedman's sacking. An embarrassing, indefensible cricket scoreline would probably result in the best thing for Bolton, which is the inept "Dougie" being f*cked off to under-12s football where he belongs.
