If Freedman were to be sacked
1) Who would you expect us to get in to replace him?
2) Who would you want us to get in to replace him?
My answers would be -
1) Not a clue, could be anyone that's currently a free agent
2) Would love Gus Poyet or Robbie Di Matteo while both are available but can't see either wanting the job
2) Who would you want us to get in to replace him?

With some of the suggestions made else where, we would have more chance appointing:
1 Alf Ramsey
2 Brian Clough
1 Alf Ramsey
2 Brian Clough

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: If Freedman were to be sacked
I'd probably actually take Tony Pulis atm to be honest... think he'd probably be one of the few managers able to sort our defence out

1. No point replacing him as we would still have;
i) A P*** Poor defence
ii) A disjointed midfield
iii) No Money (even less money a we would have to pay off DF et al)
Therefore, we would have the same problems and no future plan in place.
DF has put a plan and people in place to start to bring the kids through in the next few years. This is a forward thinking plan which is going to take time to succeed this would go out the window if DF left as we would then start again with a new manager.

You may well be right piggy, but he HAS to get a result (a positive result) and performance next weekend or it'll be untenable,Norpig wrote:1. No point replacing him as we would still have;

Fully agree, why would anyone want to take over our shambles of a squad. Better to let Freedman build his new team based on youth even if we have to go down again like Southampton did before returning to the top.Norpig wrote:1. No point replacing him as we would still have;

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED
Re: If Freedman were to be sacked
You say it as if it's inevitable that we're going to be "returning to the top". Myself, I highly doubt it. If – and that's looking like a big 'if' - we can stay afloat financially, Championship/division 1 is probably going to be our level.FaninOz wrote:Fully agree, why would anyone want to take over our shambles of a squad. True. We were pretty good early in the 20th century, then in the 50s/60s then again in the 00s... we may be out of the limelight for quite a while but chances are a club like ours will get to the top table at some point, whenever that is.Sponge wrote:You say it as if it's inevitable that we're going to be "returning to the top".
