Re-signed on a permanent deal!

Good news, is that!

Happy days. Maybe we will spend a bit of cash after all.

It's a free transfer.

Leicester apparently contributing half his wage for 6 months until his contract with them expires.

Speculation now that it's actually a loan. But he's free in the summer anyway. I'm sure we'll find out when the club confirm the length of the deal

Talks are about loan to end of the season not a permanent deal, according to Marc Iles.

Interesting now to see if Soljskaer rates McNaughton or not.

By the way does anyone know if Feeney still makes the Millwall side?

In fairness Dougie has done really good business in the loan market (Mason aside) and in the majority of his business so far. Just a shame the squad needed such an overhaul in the first place.

Feeney has been in and out of the side. They are looking for a new manager at the moment so could stall a move.

The quote I heard from someone who spoke to Dougie was "We're aiming higher than Feeney". He had 2 good games in fairness.

BWFCi, his contract ends in the summer, so he's ours if we want him, I imagine.

McNaughton only played on Wednesday due to both their other right-backs being injured, and from the highlights of the match he got the run-around for most of the match.

Feeney's played nine games since returning, but only four as starts (of which they lost three). He hasn't played in the last three, and they've sacked Steve Lomas. Uncertain.

Freedman on Feeney in the BN when the winger went back: "Quite simply, I haven't got it within my squad. Liam is very direct and in the Championship you need many options. There are all kinds of sides you come up against - the long balls teams, the footballing teams, the compact counter-attacking ones. At my previous club I played with a couple of wingers and it's something I like to do. I've brought young Rob Hall in and he'll be a top player in the next couple of years. Chung and [Chris] Eagles give me something different but that spark from a real winger is needed and so I am definitely looking - but they don't always come up. We liked Liam, I think the fans did too, and it's someone I'm looking for with that pace. He was loaned for three months and there was a buy-out clause there, but it was quite a lot of money. I'm not going to be put into a corner. Millwall asked us to pay that money and I said 'no' so he got called back. Will it resurface in January? Probably. We were tied into that deal but after 28 days he can come back. I think they will wait until January to see what happens."

And yeah, OGS will bring a few in, Cardiff aren't short of right-backs and McNaughton got skinned at Arsenal. I'm confident he'll be back too.

So it'll be late January before we're asking Millwall, having failed with other targets... :?

Feeney featured in nine successive games, either as sub or starter. I note that their other loanee winger James Henry, has made his move to Wolves permanent.

So its probably structured like the Paul Robinson deal. Loan to buy.

I'm guessing we've promised him a contract in the summer on the QT.

BWFCi, his contract ends in the summer, so he's ours if we want him, I imagine.
He's ours in the summer IF he is happy with significantly lower wages I suspect seeing as it seems Leicester are still paying a percentage now. But you'd have hoped we could sort something out.

He'll need to accept that he joined Leicester under Sven. Who could spend somebody else's money like it's going out of fashion. He'll never command those kinds of wages again.

If he's on silly money now, which I believe a few at Leicester were/are, then he's probably realistic he isn't going to find many clubs able to match it. One would hope the fact he fits here/likes it (I think) would come into his decision. A few full backs and we might be getting somewhere :)
