I will bet you that Beckford scores more goals than Phillips this season? How much you wanna bet?

That's a bet I'd love to lose. What's Kevin Davies doing? :D

Seriously, how much do you want to bet on it?

Edit: Kevin Davies? Did you see his goalscoring record last season in a league lower? Only scored a third of the goals Beckford did!

Given Kev Phillips is unlikely to start many I can understand your eagerness. The original statement was somewhat jocose.

Well thanks for that. I was hoping TD was going to fund a year or so of boozing!

I can't imagine the "best player in the world" would want to play for us? Or that we could afford his wages
Eintracht Frankfurt offered him £57000 a week plus performance bonuses, but he wanted more than that...
Said to have wanted £40k pw plus £30k for every point they get. Every point! So in a two-win week he'd be bagging £220k.
Yeah that was the terms his agent laid out, Frankfurt's offer was pretty generous itself considering his actual performances.... he would've been their highest paid player by quite a long way! And seeing as they've got actual strikers at the club like Seferovic that is quite a commitment!

I wasn't actually sure he'd finally packed up, but as I said it was a bit jocose.

Who's made that suggestion ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Rumours going bout that Southampton might be releasing Billy Sharp from his contract, always liked him decent target man, gets plenty of championship goals too!

Other 'news' outlets reporting differently on Joe Mason:

I've given up trying to guess what the hells going on with our transfers (or potential targets). First Dougie says he's interested then he's not, then the BEN says we're interested then we're not, then Sky jumps in on the act. Then it's 3 out, 12 in, but only if they're homesick or trying to sign a contract with their parent club. And where the feck are Rivaldo and Veloso??? I'm going to hide in my attic til the transfer windows closes. Thanks AT, your transfer thread has pushed me over the edge!!!

Either way, it's Beckford and Cravies for tomorrow and Dougie has hinted that they don't work well together. Lets hope our defence holds tight tomorrow...

Manchester Evening News reported that Dougie attended the Manchester Senior Cup match in Hyde last night where Wilson scored four... According to them Wigan and Burnley have been interested too...

And the sun also rises....on season kick-off tomorrow. It's beginning to look like a point at Watford would be a very decent result. Only one thing left to say....

Mason not made the squad for Cardiff. Is that a good sign? Kenwyne Jones puts the Cardiff peeps ahead.
