... another for the burgeoning up & comings in the reserves.

... and a striker. So another nail in the coffin of Iliev and Clough.

I guess we'll be loaning him out in a couple of months.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm sure he'll be great for Northampton town in 2 years time.

I'm all for development and forward planning, but if Dougie doesn't give a bit of thought to the here and now, we might end up not needing any.

i doubt dougie spends that much time on the process of signing academy players... and - as you say - you are all for developing and forward planning... so - good move, and well done Bolton.

I'm sure in the past he's said that he would be more involved with the youth set up.

Oh no! We've signed a young player!

He also, judging by Google's rankings, appears to be the world's foremost "Kaiyne".

I see Billy Sharp has gone to Leeds, always liked the look of him, will be interesting to see how he does. No good for us, scores too many goals!

Tis a shame. Certainty one we should have been looking at. Leeds are the club who couldn't match our pay levels a couple of times last year I recall so we should have been able to afford him.

Maybe not a Dougie sort of guy.

Sharp would have been good, but an either/ or with Mason I think. Wouldn't work together. We need a lump now, preferably one who can score.

Aye its a useful target man who makes the ball stick that douggie needs. Mason is a beckford replacement (assuming he's given up on beckford now).

This young lad - he's 19. I'd want near enough first team ready at 19...

He's younger than Hall, Iliev, Kellett, Lester, Odelusi, Threlkeld and Vela, but not quite Hayden White. I'm not sure whether or not that affects your preference, although I would add that John McGinlay was still playing non-league football at 25. Let's have a look at the lad, it can't hurt.

Not disagreeing...

We do seem to specialise in bringing 20ish year olds in then sending them packing again. Make much money on sell on clauses?

probably not - but then (I'm guessing here) - I'd imagine that at just about any club - maybe particularly for a club like us that is in a big-club-talent-drain-zone - there are a shedload more that don't make it than do make it. the failures are going to many - the gems will be rare.
